No Penguins but so many animals.

Disadvantages: A bit expensive but worth it.

...About Paignton Zoo. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Paignton Zoos correct title is in fact Paignton Zoo Environmental Park and it is in Devon. They are a registered charity and have also done a lot of work at the Zoo towards conservation. They have a successful breeding programme and have bred lots of rare and unusual birds as well as other animals. They recycle what they can and save water. They have waterless urinals and they use collect rainwater ...
...The environment at Paignton Zoo is lovely. They try to keep is as natural as possible for the animals. They have done a lot of work at the zoo, it has changed considerably since I first went many years ago when it was more of a traditional zoo, animals in cages rather than natural looking enclosures. The zoo strives to do more and they are currently raising funds to construct a crocodile swamp which should be fabulous when finished. The area has ...

A shitsu...I think not!

Advantages: great animlas, a lovely family day out
Disadvantages: cockroaches roam free!

...children. I have been to Paignton Zoo several times as a child, teenager and adult and to be quite honest have enjoyed every visit. I think my best visit however was with my sixth form on an A level biology trip, where we managed to split off from our teacher led groups and get our faces painted. We visited the zoo yesterday along with my fiancé, unfortunately I could not lose him in the ape enclosure….the apes wouldn't have him ;-) I am always ...
...funny things they do, however Paignton Zoo really care for the animals well and they are happy. Many of the creatures are endangered in their own countries and by preserving their species in zoos they are being protected. I was more than happy to pay an extra contribution towards conservation after my visit. _________________________________ * GETTING THERE AND PARKING * _________________________________ The zoo is very easy to find situated close ...

Having been here before I knew to wear a comfortable pair of shoes not a time for high heels girl’s comfortable shoes as the day involves some walking (lets just say there is 75 acres). I would recommend that you don’t set yourself an hour or two to get round the zoo this is basically ...

The Zoo!

Advantages: Lots to see
Disadvantages: Not so good in the rain

...enjoyed a lovely day at Paignton Zoo! I suppose it is primarily a kid's place, but in my opinion it's a great place for people of all ages to visit, and there are far worse ways to spend the day than at the zoo! I don't know if any of you watched a series called Zoo Keepers, on a few years ago? Well, it was filmed at Paignton Zoo, so some of you may recognise it. LOCATION AND PRICE Paignton Zoo is located in Paignton, South Devon. For directions ...
...very restricted conditions, but luckily Paignton isn't one of those zoos. The animals are all very well looked after, and they have clean, spacious enclosures with indoor and outdoor areas. There are more than one of almost all the animals, so they have 'friends' to interact with. The elephant and giraffe enclosures are still fairly new, and a lot better than the older ones (but even they weren't bad), and the monkey houses are also quite new and ...

Fantastic Day Out

Advantages: Brilliant family day out which keeps the kids entertained
Disadvantages: none

...a few family went to Paignton Zoo this week for 4th birthday treat for my niece and what a fab day out it was. Its been a few years since I went to this zoo & it has certinaly grown since I was last there. The zoo is 80 acres so if you are planning on going then flat shoes are a must, there are also quite a few hills to walk, the zoo offers use of wheelchairs (electric & normal) so if you dont think you can walk around all of it then this is a very ...
...you def need to set aside all day, you will never see everything in a couple of hours (we arrived at 10 and didnt leave until 4). Once you enter the zoo you can choose which route you want to walk (there are several to choose from), we went through the reptile tropics & dessert first, this is where you find the snakes & spiders etc, then onto the crocodile swap (which has not been there that long), then it was the elephants & monkeys & we saved the ...

A Brilliant Day Out

Advantages: Great Day Out
Disadvantages: Food Expensive

...go on a jaunt to Paignton Zoo. Tim had been before with his parents when he was younger but wanted to see what had changed. So we all packed into the car and off we went. **How to Get There** By Car: Paignton Zoo is on the A3022 Totnes Road. Once in Paignton it is easy to find by following the tourist signs. Car parking is free and there is also ample disabled parking. By Train: the nearest stations are Paignton and Torquay but you will have to ...
...out a form to enable Paignton Zoo to be able to get the tax back from the government of your entrance fee. I would recommend you do this, as it’s a small way in which to help the zoo and also get the government to do something useful for a change! **What’s at the Zoo?** The zoo is divided into six different habitats: Wetland: in the wetland area you can see flamingos, ducks, geese, storks, pelicans, cranes, and swans. They used to have penguins ...

Paignton Zoo

Advantages: Good for children
Disadvantages: Appalling in bad weather

...about August when I visited Paignton Zoo in Devon, which is the biggest in the UK. The zoo was founded in 1901 by Herbert Whitley, when he was only small, with a doting gift from his mother of a pair of canaries. He went on to raise and show finches, Dutch rabbits and silver Wyandotte poultry but the stars of his compilation were undeniably his adored blue and black cropper pigeons. The 1st monkeys arrived in 1910, & in 1911 Herbert bought the 1st ...
...Only a fragment of Paignton Zoo's history is written here, but you can read all about this amazing variety & its founder, Herbert Whitley, in the book 2Chimps, Champs and Elephants" by Jack Baker. This book is sold in the shop, & in retail outlets at the Zoo. We caught the bus from Teignmouth Triangle ( a name of a street in the town) & changed at Torquay. By Bus. Stagecoach & First Western National run bus services direct to the Zoo. Visitor's travelling ...
