Advantages Advantages Takes all day. Lovely animals, as natural as possible environment.

Disadvantages Disadvantages A bit expensive but worth it.

I had a lovely day with my family at the Zoo yesterday. This positive experience was enhanced by the fact that my husband was given free tickets and £3 each towards food by his employers. We did bump into a few of his colleagues there as the tickets had to be used on that one particular day. It was an exremely enjoyable day. Paignton Zoo... one day just isn't enough! I took my godson who is 1 and a half years old and his brother of 3 years old there today. Thankfully it was a lovely day and the kids were so well behaved that I enjoyed every moment of it. But unfortunately there was so much we missed (animal wise) due to kids taking somewhat longer to walk and look around than us adults as well as them asking to go to the toilet when we are on the furthest part away from any toilets to be seen! Where is Paignton Zoo? Paignton Zoo is in the lovely place of Torbay in Devon. It was opened in 1923 and has expanded more ... more

    Disadvantages Disadvantages cockroaches roam free!

My dad's work place organise family days out for the family of staff. OK so my sister and I are now adults but that has never stopped us. A trip to the zoo is as enjoyable for adults as it is for children. I have been to Paignton Zoo several times as a child, teenager and adult and to be quite honest have enjoyed every visit. I think my best visit however was with my sixth form on an A level biology trip, where we managed to split off from our teacher led groups and get our faces painted. We visited the zoo yesterday along with my fiancé, unfortunately I could not lose him in the ape ... more

5 Stars My Trip To The Zoo Review with images 03/09/2004

Advantages Advantages See Animals That You Never Get The Chance To See

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None

Over the years I have been to Paignton Zoo lots of times so I thought I would write a review and recommend it to everyone so here is my day at the zoo and what I thought of it. Having been here before I knew to wear a comfortable pair of shoes not a time for high heels girl’s comfortable shoes as the day involves some walking (lets just say there is 75 acres). I would recommend that you don’t set yourself an hour or two to get round the zoo this is basically an all day trip as there is so much to see and do. Well we got to the zoo at about 10am the zoo has just opened and already it was busy ... more

Disadvantages Disadvantages Very hilly and you get blisters on your feet!!!

I went on holiday in the easter holidays to Devon Cliffs for a Monday to Friday break and one day we decided to go on a trip to Paignton Zoo. MY TRIP! We arrived between 11-12 am and "tried" to find a parking space. All the spaces were took up so we were parked in a over flow car park which was more like a field!! I suppose it wasn't too bad for the Easter holidays. We started to walk down to main reception and i was sooooo glad i had worn my trainers looking at he hills going down to reception!! We finally got down to reception to be greeted by flamingos! We got our tickets plus a guide ... more

    Advantages Advantages Lots to see

Disadvantages Disadvantages Not so good in the rain

I have just enjoyed a lovely day at Paignton Zoo! I suppose it is primarily a kid's place, but in my opinion it's a great place for people of all ages to visit, and there are far worse ways to spend the day than at the zoo! I don't know if any of you watched a series called Zoo Keepers, on a few years ago? Well, it was filmed at Paignton Zoo, so some of you may recognise it. LOCATION AND PRICE Paignton Zoo is located in Paignton, South Devon. For directions you can see their website. Prices are as follows: Adult: £11.35 Child (3-15): £7.60 Student/Senior Citizen: £9.35 Family (2 adults+2 ... more

Me and a few family went to Paignton Zoo this week for 4th birthday treat for my niece and what a fab day out it was. Its been a few years since I went to this zoo & it has certinaly grown since I was last there. The zoo is 80 acres so if you are planning on going then flat shoes are a must, there are also quite a few hills to walk, the zoo offers use of wheelchairs (electric & normal) so if you dont think you can walk around all of it then this is a very good solution. If you are heading to the zoo you def need to set aside all day, you will never see everything in a couple of hours (we ... more

Last Sunday my boyfriend Tim, my sister Emma, my nephew Ricki and myself decided to go on a jaunt to Paignton Zoo. Tim had been before with his parents when he was younger but wanted to see what had changed. So we all packed into the car and off we went. **How to Get There** By Car: Paignton Zoo is on the A3022 Totnes Road. Once in Paignton it is easy to find by following the tourist signs. Car parking is free and there is also ample disabled parking. By Train: the nearest stations are Paignton and Torquay but you will have to catch a bus the rest of the way. By Bus: Stagecoach and First ... more

Advantages Advantages A full day out

Disadvantages Disadvantages A long day out

Paignton Zoo is my local zoo, and I have been there probably 4 or 5 times in ten years. I can thoroughly recommend the zoo. Situated near Morrisons in Paignton it is handy to pickup a family picknic before going into the zoo, but don't leave your car in Morrisons car park, they are clamping down on zoo visitors doing this, with new parking restrictions recently added to limit the length of time people can use the supermarket car park for. Having said this, Paignton zoo has a lot of free parking spaces for visitors on a hill that descends downwards towards the zoo reception, if you don't like ... more
