...Flights from the UK to Paphos International Airport take around 4½ to 5 hours. Direct flights to Paphos are widely available with charter flights from both regional and national airports. Paphos International Airport is quite small and it has to be said, seems to have some difficulty coping with the amount of traffic it has to deal with. The queue to get through customs and passport control was quite vast and rather slow moving. However, in general the airport was clean and efficient, and only a fifteen minute drive away from Paphos itself. Nearby construction work does indicate upgraded facilities are ...

...have a lot of choice. Paphos Airport is relatively small, with currently only two runways (I am told that they are probably going to build a third). This means there is not an abundance of available flights, and it is hard to find ones at perfect times. ...is my seventh visit to Paphos over 3 years. This time it was very different. Being my first visit since Cyprus changed over to Euros in Jan 2008, I was amazed to notice the changes that had already been made. The Harbour had changed almost beyond recognition. For those of you who have already visited this area, you are in for a shock of delight.

Paphos is Ideal for all year round holidays. Many thinks so but there are some unlucky holiday makers that have come here in the winter, are really disappointed. Honestly I can't blame them either. Unless you know what to do and where to go. it can be really boring, looking drab, and even the beaches don't look very special. Many of the harbour shops are closed and other stores are nor ...

So this was Paphos in Cyprus. First thoughts? Not too impressed.
Our hotel wasn't in a prime position to say the least. From the balcony I could gaze at houses, unfinished buildings and what can only be described as scrubland - no doubt also waiting to be developed. In fairness the hotel (Paphiessa) was adequate - nice and clean and well decorated. Like a lot of things though, position is important.
But was I down hearted? No way! I changed ... ...was beginning to have fun, Paphos wasn't so bad after all!
Paphos has been around for ages and is full of history. It was the Roman capital of Cyprus and is on the west coast. It is divided into two definite sections: Upper (Pano) Paphos and Lower (Kato) Paphos. Buses (nos. 10 & 11) link the two parts. Actually the buses are very efficient. They run every fifteen minutes and there is a local set fare of 50 cents (55p). BF and I got to know them ...

...Pafian Sun Holiday Village in Paphos was an absolute delight.
The rooms were clean and modern (consisting of a double bedroom and a sleeping area in the living area for one person), the lounge area was light, airy and comfortable and the entertainment was varied. ...We went to Paphos christmas 98 and enjoyed a great time, sampling the local dishes, testing the cocktails (there are some intersting ones worth trying) and enjoying a really wonderful christmas dinnner at a local hotel where Santa had arrived by helicopter!and presented all the children with a gift. Paphos is excellent for children as the bars and hotels welcome families, the bars actually welcome children in the evenings providing them with games and usually free popcorn while their parents can have a chat and a drink with their friends.Christmas afternoon there are family bars open with bowling, pool, but no fruit machines as gambling is banned, but there are some good game machines my children enjoyed. ...we were there we visited Paphos for the day and we decided that the next time we came to Cyprus we would give Paphos a go. We booked our holiday with Libra/Priceright Holidays. Advantages: Loads to do, very hot in summer, drives on the same side of the road as the UK Disadvantages: Main resort area very English,
I spent two weeks in Paphos August 2000. It is said to be the quietest main resort in Cyprus but I was quite surprised! It has an unlimited amount of pubs/bars and restaurants in the main streets near the harbour. These are all a bit touristy but make quite a good atmosphere. Paphos makes an excellent base from which to tour the rest of Cyprus. A hire car allows you to see the whole of the South (visiting the North ...

Advantages: Get a tan, even in January Disadvantages: Gets very busy in season
I spent ten days in Paphos at the beginning of January. I expected it to be warm but hot enough to get a tan. I was wrong. It was hot and sunny every day. Temperatures were around 73 fahrenheit for most of the day. It was a bit cooler at night.

The town of Paphos itself, or Upper Paphos, (there are two towns called Paphos), was completely different. It was jammed with cars and trying to cross the narrow roads was somewhat dangerous. ...apartment complex just outside Paphos. Paphos is a resort in the west of Cyprus. It’s divided into two nearby areas. ...just spent a week in Paphos and I have to say that unfortunately, in the middle of February there really isn't a lot to recommend it!
