...the word "city" doesn't fit. Paris is a way of life. It's a Country in itself. It, has it's own language. It has it's own fashion. It even has a piece of "Disney". So, what doesn't it have? Something. Several things. Many can't put their finger on it. Or, they are too afraid to point out it's faults. It's almost like, the moment they speak a criticism, the Parisian Mafia might come and throw them off the Eiffel Tower. Every tourist I've spoken with ... ...beyond "cool" to go to Paris as a child. I went to Paris for the first time in 1994 and it was my first visit to a major European city. I was completely blown away but the monuments, buildings, bridges, the history etc. In 1999 my wife Nikki and I went there together as our first get away after she moved to Norway and this time we spent more time in the city and we had a chance to see a lot. So based on this it goes without saying that Paris has a special place in my heart. I'm ...

...that was also affordable. However, Paris isn't cheap, and we ended up staying at the 2* Hotel Navarin Et Angleterre, in the pleasant, yet unremarkable, area of St. Georges. On arrival I was quite impressed by the freshly decorated reception, with marble floor and green velvet fittings, and the extremely polite receptionist. '''Street sellers. Be aware!!!!!!'''
In all the tourist areas, like Eiffel Tower, Sacre Coeur especially, and the Moulin Rouge, etc, you have to be aware of pickpockets, or people looking to sell you things. Paris is one of the most beautiful and romantic cities in the world. It is also the most hardest city to review as there are so many things to do and see. So to prevent this opinion becoming a novel I have chosen a small selection of sights in Paris that I would encourage you to visit if you go there, and given a little detail about them.

If no place is perfect, Paris comes close. The French capital practically invented the modern concepts of romance, fashion, good food and riverside walks with the one you love. I have now visited Paris twice as a tourist, both in the February half term, visiting many of the city's attractions. I feel it would be helpful for people visiting Paris to have a guide of practicalities regarding their stay.
TRANSPORT

If you live close to London, by far the easiest method of travel to Paris is by the Eurostar. Direct from Waterloo, it travels in 2 hours to the centre of Paris, to the Gare du Nord station.
It may ... ...Régional, which goes direct from Paris to both Versailles and Disneyland and other places too. Again, tickets can be bought from Metro stations or mainline stations at the start and it is not necessary to book.

...We were going to Paris today.
I put on a black long-sleeved T-shirt and black trousers and put a red short-sleeved shirt on over the top. “Is that what you’re wearing?” Tommy asked me.
“…yeah, why?”
“Well, it’s just a bit messy, that’s all.”
“Something a bit more formal then,” I huffed back into the bedroom and threw my shirt down onto the floor in early-morning irritation. Carefully, I selected my black shirt with white collar and cuffs and ... ...impressed.
We drove towards Paris and, out of curiosity, I moved Tommy’s shirt as he slept to see which T-shirt he had on. He moved and looked at me through a sleepy haze.
I asked, “What top have you got on?”
“Does it matter?!” Biting, I tell you, biting. “I’ve got a crick in my neck, now,” he said.
“Good, you deserve it.” I was scorned, you see.
“Yeah, I probably do.”
Soon after, we stopped for a bite to eat and I told him what he’d said whilst ...

...Each time I go to Paris I try to see a different area in a bit more depth. On a visit to Paris most people will try to see the most famous sights such as the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, Sacre Coeur and Montmartre and the Louvre so omitting these popular attractions I will tell you some of my favourite places in Paris which include Musee d’ Orsay, the Tuileries gardens, forum des Halles, Place des Vosges and above all Versailles which I have written ... ...on Mondays. PARIS - how wonderful!!
Having now visited 3 times in the past 2 years, I am in love with the most romantic City on earth - not that I go for the romance!
Paris is VAST, there is no other word to describe a City with over 20 million inhabitants (That's about 4 times more people than Scotland in its entirety!!) Central Paris however (within the peripherique)is split into 20 Arrondissements or quarters as the are known. Thay are numbered in a clockwise ... ...Paris which is the Louvre. Even although it is vast, this split makes Paris very accessible to everyone and very easy to negotiate.
A map of central Paris is a must for any visitor and having bought several, I found the Lonley Planet City Map the best so far, it is also plastic coated in case it rains (which it often does). It gives an overall viem of the City and tis 20 Arrondissements and also shows the most popular and most visited Tourist attractions ...

Advantages: beautiful city, lots to do Disadvantages: expensive, ignorant French people
...it’s just the streets of Paris are so busy that it pays to be a little erratic. Patients is not a virtue of the French! Accommodation in Paris… There are many hotels and hostels in Paris, and camp sites if that’s more your thing. Advantages: Cultural and Romantic Disadvantages: People aren't too friendly
I recently visited Paris for the first time and I have to say what a great city it is. Here is my brief guide to the most romantic city in Europe.
FIRSTLY: If you’ve never been to Paris then I suggest you do three things as soon as you get there. Firstly get yourself a map of the city. You can probably get one of these from your hotel although it might be a good idea to get one before you go. Secondly get a travel card. For around £15 you ... ...are in the centre of Paris there is a Metro station no more than 5 minutes away. If you buy the travelcard like I suggest you can also use buses and trains. Beware of Taxi’s though. They are very expensive especially if you get one from the Airport. It cost around £60 to get from the airport to the centre of Paris.
HOTELS
As with every city there are hotels for every budget. The cheapest being around £30 per night for a very basic room and ...
