Advantages: offers lots to do and see Disadvantages: you never have enough time.
PARIS the capital of France. I have been many times, for work, for pleasure, for shopping, to parties, to concerts, to museums, to special days such as the 14th July national holiday. For the Tour de France, the World Cup. I use it as a international connection to other countries (by train or plane). I have also got stuck in traffic for many hours whilst trying to get the other side of the city.
Depending on the reason of your visit, Paris has so ... ...If you drive to Paris from Calais, two motorways link the port to the capital. The A1 & A16. I prefer the A16, a little longer but less traffic. If you have the time take the back roads such as the N17 and stop off at some of the small towns along route. Again, once you get to the outskirts of Paris, traffic jams are common and be very alert when looking for your exit. Mind the priority from the right which is still applicable on the 'Peripherique'. ...

Advantages: Architecture, atmosphere, food Disadvantages: Sights often busy
Paris is without doubt one of the loveliest cities in the world (and I've been to quite a few). In fact, now that I haven't been there for a while I am getting a craving to go back. The architecture is beautiful, with Notre-Dame and the Louvre obviously dominating, but other areas are gorgeous too, like the Tuileries gardens. I studied French at Uni and it is dead coolt o go around and see all the places you've heard about. I stayed with a friend ... ...from that, the atmosphere in Paris is great - whether you're buying food at street markets, sipping a hugely overpriced drink on the Champs-Elysees or browsing through second hand bookshops. There are so many fabulous places to eat and drink, and so much culture, and it's so different to London....I love it. And I want to go back, now. ...

Advantages: I don't have to live there Disadvantages: Expensive, people are rude
...one and only trip to Paris was filled with disaster and I won't be returning there in a hurry if ever at all.
I went with some friends on a weekend trip from one of those offers in the newspapers. It started out okay as we boarded the coach but once we got to Paris things went wrong. Firstly we had not been allocated a hotel room and the French Owners tried to tell us we were not booked with them despite the fact that the other 48 passengers were. ... ...just about everything.
I found the general demeanour of the locals to be rude and sometimes arrogant. I didn't enjoy my stay there at all probably because of all the problems on the first day.
My conclusion is that without the French, Paris would be a wonderful place. ...

Advantages: So much to see Disadvantages: Can't think of anything
Paris has got to be my favourite place. I have been there four times now, the last time being May of last year. It is such a beautiful city with so many wonderful things to see. The Eiffel Tower was a must for me. I remember going up there as a child and couldn't wait to relive the experience when I went back a few years ago. You can see for miles and miles and can pick out most of the other famous landmaks. The Louvre is fascinating, so much history ... ...The best thing in Paris for me though, is definitely The Champs Elysee. Stand at the top, by the Arc De Triumph and look down the tree lined avenue, it's wonderful. it could take you all day to get from the top to the bottom by walking in and out of the many shops, bars and cafes that line both sides of the avenue.
It really is a wonderful City, I hope to go back there in May next year and I can't wait! ...

Advantages: I guess Paris has to be seen once! Disadvantages: Expensive, unromantic, polluted, dreary capital
...but as I soon realised Paris does not live up to its image. I have found the people to be rather rude at times, especially towards British tourists. The sites are nice to visit but then they really aren't as exciting as some attractions I have seen on my travels. The Eiffel Tower is something to remember, especially after walking most of the way up, looking down through the metal stairs at the people becoming smaller. That was cool - but then so ... ...you plan to go to Paris for more than a couple of days do remember to take along your credit cards! This city is expensive. And if you're planning to go there for a romantic weekend do rethink your plans and choose any provincial town elsewhere in France. Anywhere else is more romantic than Paris! ...

Advantages: warm in summer, romantic, architecture, street cafes Disadvantages: street entertainers wanting money for nothing, Hotel Favart
...I travelled by Eurostar to Paris last summer and I can truly say it was the most wonderful holiday we have ever experienced. Disneyland Paris was the first stop and it is far more attractive than its American counterparts. We had to take the metro to Paris and carrying our luggage up four flights of escalators was a struggle, but it was worth it.
Our first hotel was a great disappointment - Hotel Favart. It was a total dump and we were only allowed ... ...Concorde and seeing the Arc de Triomphe for the first time. Forget the Eiffel - Paris is about architecture and the Arc is incredible.
I could go on forever, but in short everyone has to visit Paris at least once in their lifetime. You will be inspired and amazed! ...

Just come back from a long weekend in Paris, thought I would write a few do's and dont's
Do Book a 3 or 5 day metro ticket. (£25 for 3 days approx) it may seem a lot but well worth it, no better way to get around
Don't
Buy a metro ticket if your disabled, wheelchair bound or unable to deal with stairs, lifts and escalators are non existent. Do Drink the wine, Is the cheaper option
Don't buy Lager at £7 a pint in most places, you will just get ... ...Visit the Louvre on a monday, its the quietest time and queues are only about ten minutes after the initial rush
Don't
Visit the Eiffel Tower at the weekend either, queues are about 2 hours on average unless you like the stairs
Do take time to find a nice restaurant ahead of time. Don't Find one on spec, especially if its raining, most restaurants are either really cramped for space, or full of discusting french smokers. There seems to be loads ...

...since I'm 2 years old...
Paris is a beautiful place and there is a lot of thing to see there.
So I will began to introduce you the places I prefer :
1)Paris V, or "quartier Latin"
Famous and known as the students place.
All the best highschool or university are in Paris V: La Sorbonne, Henry IV, Louis le grand, etc etc...
But there is not all.
The Boulevard Saint-Michel is a nice long street full of shop and restaurants.
What do you prefer ... ...can advise you to go to the Musee du Louvre,Musee D'orsey or Disneyland.
I can't say if Paris is expensive,It depends of what you call "cheap" or expensive.
Well try to avoid the special tourist's shop, because all they sell are much more expensive than in a normal shop,be carefull.... ...

Advantages: A safe and architecturally beautiful city within easy reach of the UK. Strong exchange means prices are reasonable. Easy to get round - even if you get lost. Disadvantages: Gets very crowded particularly in holiday season.
We passed through Paris at Easter on our way to central France and spent a couple of days there, very reasonably. We all felt that Disneyland was totally overated and were very disappointed with the queues for the Eiffel Tower. Unfortunately the queues were about 2.5 - 3 hours long and we really hadn't got enough time to wait. We had parked on the outskirts of Paris (right on the edge of the Peripherique) and it cost us about £4 - £5 for about 6hours ... ...in the UK. All in all an enjoyable day and we would have liked to stay longer. Cheap hotels / B&Bs can be found all over the greater Paris area, look out for Formule 1, Premier and B-B around 185Ffr a night for up to 3 people! Can't be bad! ...

Advantages: beautiful, romantic, great food and wine Disadvantages: expensive
I took my girlfriend to Paris one Easter and had a wonderful time. The city has got to be one of the most beautiful I've seen and the food and the wine is fantastic. It is a very romantic city, probably due to slower pace of life and beautiful surroundings.
Some people moan about the people being being very unfriendly. Personally i didn't find that to be the case at all. Obviously some people are rushing to work or whatever and can't be bothered ... ...restauranteers were great, though I think if you were to expect them to speak English the chances are they would be rude. if you're in their country make the effort to speak the language and you'll be welcomed accordingly.
One thing I would say is that it is a tad expensive. if you avoid the main centre and eat out in the Latin quarter it's a lot cheaper. I'd also recommend the same for accomodation if you're on a budget.
All said, I'd go back ...

A recent trip to Paris was extremely delightful. We stayed at the 'le Meridien' hotel in Montparnasse. The city of Paris has a population of around 22.2 million people, and it seems none of them eat in doors! Every cafe, restaurant, etc was usually packed. And all have tables very close together. Being disabled and in a wheelchair, I can certainly say that Paris is not a wheelchair friendly place. In fact it is completely unfriendly. However, I would ... ...absolute amazing thing.
BEWARE, Paris is expesnive. We paid the following prices.
2 plastic combs - £16.20
1 can coke - £2.50
2 Omelettes and 1 teas £12.00
3 course dinnner- £22.00 pp
Having said all this, Paris is definetly worth a visit, and I would go again tomorrow, should my finaces allow. ...

...or just a weekend away, Paris is the one city that everyone 'must' see. From the day we arrived it was a whirlwind tour, we didn't know where to go next as there was so much too choose from, beautiful parks to walk in , building are magnificent and the museums are one on every corner.
