Paris in general

Paris is an amazingly beautiful city. I recently returned for the third time (on this occassion with my parents in toe). Previous trips have been chilled out events with friends, bar hopping and generally wandering aimlessly through the streets- in itself a worthwhile way to while away the hours. This time however we did more of your traditional 'tourist' activities, visiting the Eiffel Tower - though not venturing up thankfully Im sure the views ...
...our visit. On the downside Paris is expensive to eat and drink (although we did on occassion save cash by buying food at the supermarket to eat as a picnic in the park). The underground is fantastic however definately not for the faint hearted as it can be very crowded and can involve a lot of walking between adjoining lines and stairs - so best to take it easy if your health is not 100% , its also not wheelchair friendly. Paris is one of those places that you just have to visit. It has the sights and smells of a world city and it is lovely. The Eiffel Tower is a must see if you go there and it really is incredible, well it is one of the most famous buildings in the world! Paris is definately not for everyone....that I have to admit. The people aren't all that friendly and the streets don't look awfully unlike London.But if you look at bit closer, there is an openess about Paris which definately does make a difference. For instance, we visited the Musee D'orsay (an Art and Sculpture gallery) and when we came out someone had rolled an upright Piano into the street and accompanying him was a guy in a trencg coat with ...
...Another thing I would suggest you definately do not miss would be to get up early one morning (make sure its nice and sunny) and go to a cafe that has its own Boulanger (Bakery part). There is nothing in the world like sittig outside with the sun on you face, eating hot freshly baked bread, smothered in what ever takes your fancy and a nice cup of french coffee. Delicious! ...

They have a wonderful metro system that can get you around the place much like the tube system, though their travel tickets are smaller and easier to loose. ...I am totally amazed that Paris is connected to romance, it is the most unromantic city I have been to in Europe. 'Dirty Weekends' or indeed 'dirty any day' are guaranteed, the place is filthy. There is plenty to see and the food is very good if you are prepared to eat at expensive restaurants. The place is drab, full of French who can be very rude and unhelpful and you can quickly develop a 60 a day smokers cough with the fumes from the diesel cars. ...
...in Europe, to give you some idea, when you switch the light out you are in bed before its dark. This is the place if you want to be close to your partner, make music by coughing in harmony and lose weight from your wallet. Romantic - I think not. ...

Paris city of romance, i think not, there is more romance in a card board box in the rubbish dump! I can not see what the attraction is. I have been to Paris many times and I never tire of the place. I first went by myself when I was 18yrs old, I want to go away without anyone else to prove to myself that I could do it. ...unimpressed with the sites that Paris had to offer. Most of the famous buildings looked dirty and unkept, almost as though they had not had a face lift since before the Germans invaded. The streets were very busy but no different to the streets in the centre of London. I have been to Paris only once, but when i went i was so impressed that i wanted straight away to go back again and see more of this exciting, busy, lively city. Paris is a capital city for France to be proud of, it has many great sights, such as the towering Eiffel tower. I went to Paris with my College Leisure and Tourism class. The idea was to experience the customer service of Disneyland Paris....but we didn't do much work. The park was good, especially the Planet Hollywood bar! (I recommend the 'terminator' cocktail!!) Anyway, one evening we went into Paris, we all went off in our groups, and somehow, the group I was in managed to find out way into the gay part of the city, we went into a few bars there because ...

I went to paris 3 years ago. It was an enjoyable experiance and i hope go be back soon. From the wonderfull rivers that run through the city, to the most enjoyable kebab i have ever tasted! Paris has it all. And lets not forget Eurodisney - one of the best theme parks for kids in the world! With many glorious land marks, and the chance to walk halfway down the eifell tower, it is really a great oppertunity to go to this nice city. travel is cheap ...
