The Park Central Hotel New York is in a brilliant location on 56th and 7th right in the centre of everything. A 10 minute walk downtown brings you to Times Square, 2 blocks uptown takes you to Central Park, 5th Avenue shopping is just 1 or 2 blocks to the east and a subway station 20 seconds away to take you to wherever else you want to go. Carnegie Hall is directly opposite and the Rockefeller Centre is less than 10 minutes away. The hotel is surrounded ... ...Irish bar just opposite. The location really couldn't get any better. When we first arrived it was difficult for us for find but that was only because we didn't have a map with us and because the grid system is so confusing at first. We were walking up and down for about 20 minutes until we eventually came across it at practically the same place where we started! FIRST IMPRESSIONS
I was delighted when we first arrived at the Park Central hotel - the immaculate lobby and reception area, with brown leather sofas and sparkling floor tiles, was classy and modern. We were greeted by friendly staff who gave us our room keys, and we went off up the lifts (we didn't fancy taking the stairs, having being accomodated on numerous floors up the building!) to our room.
... ...room was much nicer than I'd anticipated. It was nicely decorated, the beds and bedding were comfy, and there was a large cable TV, a hairdryer, and an inroom safe, which we also found very useful. The bathroom was also clean and tidy. The only downpoint of the room was our view - our window looked onto another wall a few metres away, but really this wasn't too much of a disappointment seeing as we only really used the room at night and for getting ...
