...I'd write a review of Patong Beach as I saw it on my recent travels around Asia and in particular Thailand. It's my ay of hopefully bringing back the custom to Phuket.

Advantages: sun, sea, sand, good food, bargains. I have always felt safe. Disadvantages: Some of the hotels are a little way from Patong beach
Whilst patong beach can be very busy it is also very long so it is quite easy to find somewhere quiet. The shopping in Patong is excellent. There are fabulous shops and stalls lining the streets offering excellent value for money goods. Though be prepared to barter and start very low. Although there is prostitution here it is a safe place to take your children. It is not shoved in your face, and if you walk the street with children you will not be ...
