Advantages: Amazing views, free to get in, central location Disadvantages: Getting up early to get tickets
...write a review on the Petronas Towers which we visited while we were in Kuala Lumpur. It was certainly worth the visit to say the least, so I hope the review does it justice.
The History of the Petronas Towers.
This was once classified as the worlds tallest structure but due to changes in measuring these things it falls a little short today to the Sears Tower in Chicago.
These were designed by a Norwegian Dawid Muano and the construction got underway ... ...Visit.
We arrived at the Petronas Towers approx 30 mins before our official ticket time as I was directed to do this by the member of staff handing out the tickets in the morning.
Upon arrival and checking in we were given a pass on a neck chain in ‘Blue’ (this was our allocated colour for our time slot) and this was a swipe card to go through the security check point.
Here you are requested, similar to any airport, to scan your bags and to pass ...

Advantages: A mixed-use building with fascinating achitectural design Disadvantages: Not much of interesting attractions around the place
...of them is the popular Petronas Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) as the second tallest building in the world which I visited in April 2004. The Twins (Petronas) stripped off the crown from Sears Tower, Chicago (US) where I also visited in 1997 a year before the Twins got the title. By 2003, Petronas is already surpassed by Taipei 101 (Taiwan) for being the current tallest building with a towering height of 509 meters (1677 feet), 56 meters ... ...as the second tallest building, Petronas still remains as an interesting economic icon in Asia which draws a lot of tourists and the like any time of the year. HOW TO GO THERE?
The Twins (Petronas) can be reached by air thru KL International Airport (2006 World Best airport), or by land car, bus or train from Singapore or Thailand. It takes 45 minutes by car and 20 minutes by bullet train from the KLI airport. My visit to Petronas was not planned ...

Advantages: It's free, the views are great Disadvantages: Can't go all the way up/nothing much else to do
I loved KL. We went on our honeymoon in april of this year.
The twin towers are in my opinion a great example of modern architecture and well worth a visit.
Some guidebooks say that you'll have to queue for hours to get a ticket as they only give out a limited number each day, but we didn't find this to be the case. We went in the morning and were given a ticket for a time slot in the afetrnoon. We couldn't beleive it was free. I can't think of ... ...to do with the couple of hours you have between picking up a ticket and actually going up the towers - the KLCC shopping centre is a five minute walk away. It's an air conditioned shoppers paradise (very welcome in 33 degree heat!)
Back to the towers: the building you enter in is very clean and corporate looking - its a fully operational business centre, so don't expect to look around the offices. You'll be taken into a small room to watch a short ...

Advantages: enable u to see whole kl area Disadvantages: perhaps u can tell me after visiting!
I am a Malaysian. I almost go to the twin towers area everyweek. There is a shopping complex attached to this towers. Foreigners like to go shopping the shopping complex, Suria KLCC because it is a big shopping complex. There are lots of outlets selling branded products there. Gucci, Rolex, Prada, Couch, Tiffany.. U could almost buy anything branded there if you have the cash! The environment of the complex is soothing and comfortable. Foreigner ... ...overhead roof is made up of glass. thus sunlight can come in! You could go to the shopping complex after visiting the twin towers. twins towers was the no1 highest building of the world, before 101 building emerging in taiwan. Everyday, the authority just allow a certain numbers of visitors to go to its crossbrige at floor 88. If u really wish to go to the area where the 2 towers connected, guess u need to go earlier to get the free tickets! while ...

Advantages: nice atmosphere, amazing building Disadvantages: very annoying first come first served ticket system
Visited the Petronas Towers this year and to be honest i was very disappointed. I arrived there at around 11am after using the very efficient but rather expensive train system which takes you from the airport (although going up the towers is free). Upon arrival i discovered that no tickets were available for today. In fact the clerk told me that tickets sell out very fast everyday, especially weekends and holidays when malaysians often visit. Therefore ... ...as early as possible (as you can't prebook tickets either). This mean that if you're just in transit like i was then you probably won't be able to make it in time as the journey from the airport takes upwards of 50 minutes and thats if you make all train connections perfectly. However within the complex there wasa very good mall, which is good if you have some time to kill. It has a very well appointed food court too, which serves excellent and cheap ...
