Having been a studen in leeds for the past two years and never venturing into planet earth (planet slap as it was known as due to the ladies who ventured inside and the pissed up lads who tried to pull them only to slap it on the revolving dance floor) I was pleasently surprised when earlier this month I stumbled upon the recently reopened Bondi Beach Bar. Having spent four years clubbing at Planet Earth I was shocked to see that it had closed its doors last year. I used to be at University in Leeds and graduated last year. Having then returned last weekend on a trip to visit the old haunts I was gutted to see such a good club close down. For those who don't know, the best thing about Planet Earth was the revolving dance floor - class act!! until all of you get on it and try revolving it the wrong way so it breaks. Just a little note to keep all you Planet Earth fans up to date. It is correct that the Planet Earth we once all loved with the fantastic dancefloor closed its doors last year. However it has been refurbished and reopened as the Bondi Beach bar but alas without the revolving dance floor. Now it is no different to any other club offering student nights and cheap drinks and yes for you boys bar staff in bikinis. If you fancy a cheap night out where you want to drink cheapy and dance to cheesy music then maybe its the place for you. If you were after Planet Earth then you'll be disappointed. All ... more
