Hotel Poem is an excellent small hotel in the mid-range of prices and with a quirky, family feel to it. The name of the hotel comes rom the fact that the 16 rooms are named after famous Turkish poems (which are displayed, translated into English). Together with the friendly staff the hotel seemed to really care about the people who stayed in it and wanted them to have a good time. The hotel offer airport pickups. The rooms varied in size a little although they were all quite small. One of the rooms we stayed in (we moved because we wanted two beds not because there was anything wrong with the first room!) was really very small so with the double bed in the room there was only space to squeeze past at one side. The hotel itself is situated in a great place. It is in the centre of an area called Old Sultanahmet. It is essentially in the centre of all the tourist area but this does not mean it is bad. There are a lot of restaurants nearby and most of the restaurants owners speak good English so there should be no problem with the language. The hotel is also about 5-10 minutes from one of the main sites in ... ...is also extremely close to other attractions such as the Aya Sofia, Grand Bazaar or the Topkapi Palace. Every day we walked to our destinations and never found the journey to be too far from the hotel, even in the mid summer heat. The original room we stayed in ( I forget the name) was a fairly bog standard room. It had a double bed, bathroom and nice view. Air conditioning is in all the rooms luckily!
