Advantages: Family Entertainment Disadvantages: Filthy, dangerous
...a 4 day break at Pontins in Southport and really wish I had never booked the trip in the first place. The place is filthy and should be demolished asap. I visited various holidays camps as a kid in the late 70's early 80's (and throughly enjoyed them) and can personally vouch that Pontins, Southport has not seen a lick of paint, dustpan & brush or a scouring pad since then.
The accomodation we booked was the Club apartment, apparently the best accomodation ...

...spent a long weekend at Pontins Southport. I visited the site 13 years ago and found it was tatty and grubby, but after being offered a free chalet as part of a Pontins marketing campaign, I decided to try the centre again and was pleasantly surprised with what I found. The site has much improved, has much more to offer now and is just perfect for families looking for a traditional holiday camp break.
The chalets are in blocks and rows as they ...

Advantages: The arcades Disadvantages: Not alot for teenagers to do
I went in July of this year with my dad, his girlfriend, her daughter and my sister. We decided to book Brean sands as we believed it was far enough down England that it would be good, warm weather. We were wrong it rained the whole time.
There are three types of accommodation you can choose from:
Budget - Budget apartments are suppose to be a 'low cost family getaway' and great value for money.
Classic - Classic apartments ...

...husband and son went to Pontins at Brean sands (somerset). We all found it a very pleasant experience and would go again without a doubt.
The accomodation was okay and although by no means 5 star, it was clean and comfortable and had the basic facilities you require of a self catering holiday (table and chairs, settee, tv, fridge, oven and grill, crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils).
You can go for the more expensive accomadation if you want ...

...would always recommend brean sands pontins to people, the children love it, theres plenty to do and there are so many surrounding areas to visit! please dont listen to the complaints, i believe anyone can have a bad experience anywhere and if people werent so hasty to storm off to a B&B the staff would be more than happy to accomodate your needs if you are not happy. overall, the holiday was a pleasure and i cannot wait to return! ...

Advantages: Good but basic accommodation Disadvantages: Not enough keys for amount of people in chalet
I have just returned from Pontins at Brean Sands and would recommend this place to anyone..
We saw and advert in the Daily Star paper for a £7.50 clubbing holiday and you got to choose from various parks and dates. We got out first choice which was Brean Sands in Burnham-on-Sea. The dates were from 4th-7th April. 6 of us went between the ages of 20 - 27.
We set out (from Southampton) at about 10.30am on Friday 4th and arrived about 2.00pm (we ...

...didnt know it was a Pontins because if i had known there is no way i would have listed it as one of my choices.
It worded it as Wall Park from what I can remember - correct me here - but would you have known it was a Pontins camp from that description.
Anyway it was the holiday from hell.
Before arrival we had paid to upgrade - I am sure they must have just pocketed the money and forgot the upgrade.
The accomodation, for those that ...

...a three night break at Pontins Southport but oh how wrong my optimism was. We arrived with our toddler and baby and my husband went on ahead to open up while we waited in the car. I could tell he wasn't impressed when he came back but he told me to go and have a look anyway. I could not believe the state of the accommodation. There were large dents in the door where someone had obviously kicked and punched it, stains in the toilet, it smelt bad and ...

Quick review of Pontins Review ofPontinsby
ruthsally3
Never again!!!!
I will not be discriminated against for being Scottish.
I have been to Blackpool Pontins 3 times. before this time (just back Friday) it was 28 years ago. It hasn't changed and I don't think it has been cleaned since then either.
The fact that Scottish holidays start 2 weeks before the English holidays meens nothing we payed over £300 for 4 days for no entertainment at night except half an hour for the kids and bingo. Food that I woudn't feed to my animals. Someone needs to tell the "chefs" that chicken isn't cooked when it is still pink.
1 bottle of lager 1 vk and 1 pepsi wait for it £8.
Take my advice DO NOT spend hard earned money on this POW camp

Advantages: great if your married to a rugby player Disadvantages: customer service is non-existant.
We went to Pontins at Camber Sands 3 years ago. We vowed never ever again. This year however, I was fed up, skint and miserable. I scanned the internet and Pontins said it had refurbished all its apartments. Wow I thought. Ring them up and see 'how much'?. This I did and was told for a 4 day break (fri-Mon 3nights) it would be £106.00!!!!!Wow I thought. There was four of us, me, my partner, and our 2 boys aged 7 and 16 months. We were so looking forward ...

...happy holiday we expected at PONTINS CAMBER SANDS
We have been going to the various pontins camps since i was 4 (now 47). This year we booked as usual and went to Camber, we usually all enjoy going here cos there is plenty for all of us to do. We were staying in club class as usual too. Well if that was club class i feel sorry for those in budjet because our chalet was damp, dirty and not enough bedding, cutlery or crockery for the 5 of us that went. ...

At the easter weekend we decided to book a late holiday to southport to treat the kids instead of staying at home. We payed around £200 for a budget chalet for the weekend. When we got there we got our keys straight away and went straight to our chalet. When we got in we found the carpet in an poor state. It looked as if it had been bleached, besides that everything was ok. On the night we went to the Fun Factory to watch party time and the cabrets. ...

Advantages: sea view Disadvantages: not many facilities
Went to Pontins Pakefield, near Lowestoft (claim to fame - UK's most Easterly point) in August 2001. Sadly the weather was appalling, and so we certainly didn't see the place at its best.
There are a fair number of traditional holiday camp activities going on: fancy dress competitions, bingo, darts and snooker tournaments , line dancing, etc. Quite a lot for 8-16 year olds in terms of activities (at no additional charge during the school holidays) ...
