...I visited or passed through Port Louis several times during my stay in Mauritius. This is the place where the main offices, buildings, centers and banks are found. The harbor and cargo delivery, as well as overseas parcel delivery buildings are also located at Port-Louis. It is quite easily the most important city of Mauritius. It is furthermore one of the major tourist spot. Here are a few tourist attractions of Port-Louis:
The Caudan Waterfront: ... ...believe it or not, the Port Louis post office has become a major spot in the city. You can always see tourists posing in front of the buildings for snaps! In addition, the post office also offers very cheap, very rapid internet service. The Blue Penny Museum This museum is the only museum in the whole wide world to own and exhibit a very famous and unique Mauritius Post Office stamp that dates way back to 1874. ...rupees. In Port Louis there are around 5 to ten museums, do visit them you might encounter a DODO fossil. Check out the mer rouge. They usually have expo and expo ventes (that is expo sales) from different countries. You'll get artisans etc...
from different countires and sometimes some rare products such as hand made artifacts.
The climate in Port Louis is always hot( THE TEMPERATURE SOARS TO 38o IN SUMMER). It is usually hotter in Port Louis ... ...the Le Pouce mountain from Port Louis to St-Pierre.
Port louis is ever so lively. There's people everywhere. Mauritius has undergone quite a lot of development during the last few years and many new shopping centres and shops are being built.
Well how to get there
1st option bus, will cost you less than 50p,25 rupees. There's a bus from almost everywhere arund the island that goes to port louis but they are a bit slow.

...found at the Waterfront at Port Louis. Port-Louis, I can say, is the busiest place I have ever been to on the island. It is small, hot and cramped but a marvellous place for shopping. I went to the Port Louis market which is a dirty and crowded and somewhat smelly open aired market but the people and vendors are extremely friendly. That I can easily say about Mauritians. They are undoubedly among the friendliest people I ever encountered during my ... ...Other places to see at Port Louis include the Caudan Waterfront, Les Casernes, The Blue Penny Musuem, and the various shopping arcades. Transportation is easy, there are buses or taxis everwhere
Food is available on every corner of the streets, as well as in nice restaurants.
Go to Port Louis if you happen to be in Mauritius. It's really great! ...
