Premier Travel Lodge, Manchester City Centre (GMEX)
In September this year me and my partner were traveling to Manchester for a concert at the Manchester Academy 2. But as Manchester is quite a bit away from where we live in North Derbyshire, and neither of us drive, we had to book a hotel to stay in for the night.
I have used Premier Travel Lodge and Holiday Inn's in the past and have had no real problems with them. So we decided to book the hotel ... ...wall. "This is a Premier Travel Inn Metro hotel. You'll find these hotels in prime locations across the UK. Metro bedrooms also include extra facilities like satellite TV, hairdryer, telephone/modem point and shower gel." We had all of the following apart from the shower gel!
Across the road was a building covered in scaffolding, and a tramline that ran past the front of the hotel. We didn't think much of it, and settled down to watch some TV before ...

I needed somewhere to stay in Manchester for an early morning meeting, normally I use the Britannia Hotel for their sauna like bedrooms and competitive rates, the Jarvis or the Thistle for weekend breaks. Sadly on this occasion the Jarvis was out of bounds at a wondrous rate of £129 room ... ...had seen the strategically placed Premier Lodge numerous times on my way into the city and always wondered what it was like, but never really had the chance to find out. At that point I didn’t actually realise that was where I would be staying, I just merely browsed the website for a Manchester location that sported free car-parking and Premier Lodge GMEX 2 had just that.

I made the booking via the Premier Lodge on-line booking service which I found to be extremely straightforward ... ...out exploring Manchester.

It was good for meeting up with others but too loud for easy conversation. The restaurant area was quieter but the menu was not particularly memorable. I think most of our party either had steak or chicken with minor variations as ...
