Introduction Coffee and sandwiches are ideal treats throughout most people's busy working lives. This coffee shop chain is a major player in the London area of England, as there are many stores in London's towns. I first visited a Pret coffee shop around three years ago as I grew tired slightly of more expensive and rival coffee shops. The reason I like visiting the Pret coffee shops is that they have a just roasted date advertised behind the counter, which is a good sign in knowing that the coffee is fresh and great quality. Compared to other coffee shops, Pret a Manger stores do offer great ... more

    Advantages Advantages Great range, ethical

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Expensive

Ready to Eat Pret a Manger is my lunchtime, well, and breakfast treat. Pret a Manger is a French phrase meaning ready to eat and that's exactly the way to explain the food they sell in their outlets. Pret (as it is most commonly known) is a UK sandwich retailer. As of November 2006 there were 155 UK shops with 118 of them in London. I work in London so these stores are very handy for me. You could probably walk down any busy London high street and find one, they are that prolific. They are very easy to spot. They have a sign out front which says Pret in big red letters with a red star behind ... more

    Advantages Advantages Yummy sandwiches

Disadvantages Disadvantages Opening hours & Price & store furniture

We British love sandwiches. They are convenient and the food industry has latched on. You can get Sandwiches everywhere and I am a firm believer that Pret sells some of the best around. Just thinking of pret sandwiches makes me hungry. All of them are freshly made on site and you can tell. I have yet to encounter a soggy sandwich (as I have done previously with Boots). My two favourites have to be 1. Crayfish and Rocket (£2.90) 2.Super Club (£2.70) Here we have our first problem. The PRICE IS NOT CHEAP and eat in is dearer than take away. What hits me is why you would want to eat-in in the ... more

Advantages Advantages Well presented and reliable food, friendly staff

Disadvantages Disadvantages Too expensive and a little pretentious

The idea is great: a chain sandwich bar selling freshly prepared sandwiches guaranteed additive-free, with a range of coffees, soft drinks (inc smoothies) and cookies on the side. The reality isn’t: the sandwiches are expensive (starting at £2.59) even if they are very fresh and packed with ingredients, and don't taste as good as they look. Consume them in-store - not a comfy option, the steel stools and mini-tables look good but are uncomfortable - and you’ll be charged an additional 17.5%. And friendly staff aren't compensation enough. (This is cheating slightly, but I feel I have to ... more

Disadvantages Disadvantages overpriced, bad quality, poor customer service

I made the unfortunate mistake of ordering a double espresso from Pret a Manger in one of the airport branches, however the location of the branch is not likely to affect the taste or quality of their coffee. The coffee appeared a bit watery looking, and it was served in a HUGE coffee cup used for a cappuccino or something. I have no idea why they served it like that, as the previous customer was given an espresso in the proper espresso sized cup. So we can hastily assume they are not environmentally friendly. The first taste was ok, but unlike a proper espresso from an authentic european ... more
