Advantages: Different sort of shops Disadvantages: Expensive
Princes Square is a totally gorgeous and sumptuous shopping mall in Glasgow City Centre and is quite unlike any other I have ever visited in the UK. It is certainly the poshest and although I rarely buy anything there I always enjoy a wander around the shops. Princes Square flies in the face of the old media image of Glasgow of rough housing estates and grinding poverty - more like the new image of Glasgow - the modern city of culture.
Unlike many ... ...shopper. The entrance to Princes Square is fairly discreet, so you have to know its location. The entrance is in Buchanan Street, towards the Argyll Street end. Although Princes Square is fairly small for a shopping mall, winding around in a sort of circle on about four floors, it makes it easy on the feet particularly as there is also a good escalator in the middle. The shops are distinguished by the absence of large high street retailing names ...

Advantages: Relaxed, spacious, full day out, unique Disadvantages: Small, expensive shops
Princes Square, within Buchanan St, Glasgow's main shopping fareway, is a shopping centre with a difference. The building dates from 1841, when it was a Merchant square. When the building was converted in the 1980's the architects carefully worked their design around many of the original features, such as the yellow sandstone walls. To give more height, the basement was excavated to house more retail space. A clear glass dome was added over the whole ... ...first Scottish store in the Princes Square.
The basement area has a performance space that is widely used for concerts at Christmas time, and the wonderful accoustics of this building make the music travel right up to the roof without being too loaud. Despite being one of the smallest shopping centres in Glasgow, it is probably the best designed, mixing retail with food and drink, giving plenty of space for general people watching. Advantages: Varied price ranges Disadvantages: Discreet location, easy to miss
This shopping center is situated discreetly within a hidden area bettwen other stores. To enter the place there is an escalator that leads you straight up to very classy restaurants. The shopping center is made up of different levels, with Lovely restaurants at the top, clothing shops and salons on another and cafes on the last. It is a very calm shopping center and is rarely ever crowded. The people that visit the shopping center tend to be well ... ...the stores, so anybody can afford to shop there. The stores that are there tend to have trendy and stylish clothing and the salon is a very up-market one. It is lovely place to go to on a weekend afternoon to shop and have coffe at the cafes.
