Punta del Este is the holiday resort more exclusive of the whole South America. Businessmen from Brazil, Argentina, Venezuela as well United States of America select Punta del Este as location for their holidays house. Here come also singers, sport stars, actor and actress.
The name of this resort says itself that the town is located on the point more eastern of Uruguay.
To reach Punta del Este you should first of all fly to Montevideo, the capital ... ...accordance with the USA style, Punta del Este keeps her fascination of a city of seamen established by European immigrants, most of them where from Italy.
In 1906 the inhabitants of a small settlement asked to the President of the Republic of Uruguay the creation of a town; the petition was accepted and rendered official with a Presidential decree on 5 July 1907.
Punta del Este was born.

Advantages: Amazing night life! Disadvantages: You won't be able to find one!
Punta del Este means “point east”. And this unknown place for europeans is a massive hit for all the famous and rich argentinian neighbours. It's not more than two hours from Montevideo, Uruguay’s capital, and it's a well prepared resort for the thousands of visitors that receive every summer. Remember that summer in this side of the world is during December, January, February, March... but it doesn't means that it's dead during wintertime, every ... ...The best thing about Punta del Este is that is that kind of place where you can go with family, friend, lover, grandparents, even pets, and they will all say that they are really enjoying themselves. Advantages: Lovely beaches, lots of big expensive looking buildings, Disadvantages: Relatively expensive living, can get very crowded in summer
...bigger than any hotel ive ever been in (though I dont really look at many). The other reviewers probably spent more time there, as tourists, in summer months - which is what Punta del Este is really for. A place definately worth visiting, if you go to Uruguay. ...
