Advantages: Cheaper than other airlines Disadvantages: Poor customer service
...cheaper!); I decided to use Qantas for my journey provider. I was optimistic about the journey as I'd heard good things from them (through members from Ciao! amongst others), and thought that considering they were used to long haul flights, the kangaroo should be an expert when it came to flying.
*What happened?*
I don't really like writing negative things, but my flight experience was actually miserable. Let me talk you through exactly what happened….. ... ...corrected. They then contacted Qantas who said that they'd accept the name misspelled as long as a copy of the passport was attached, so they could make the provision for it before I travelled. This just wasn't the case - poor customer service and unfounded organisational links were the primary cause of failure, which I didn't appreciate as I had already been told it would be fine before I went.
2) Poor take off -
Now, I'm not really that hard ...

Advantages: Food, entertainment, serv ice, frequent flyer program - everything! Disadvantages: None that I can think of
Qantas is an Australian owned airline (with a kangaroo as its logo - hence the title just in case you were wondering!) but they fly all over the world. For us British citizens who might use Qantas a bit, this means we don't have to pay to be a member of their frequent flyer program whereas Australian and New Zealand citizens do. So if you are flying with these it is a good idea to join and if you don't ever use the points you accrue then hey - it ... ...from Heathrow to Sydney on Qantas with an hour stop in Bangkok to refuel.
**Check in**
Check in was two hours before for the international flight, it was really easy and proceeded with no blips! For economy class your baggage allowance is 20kgs.
**Leg room**
Although nothing in comparison to the business class and first class seats which were really roomy (why do they always make you walk through these to get to the economy part?!), the economy ...

...Services Ltd. It was with Qantas aircraft that the flying doctors service was launched in 1928 and basically the company has gone from precariously flying one or two passengers around in flimsy bi-planes to a huge airline with numerous worldwide routes. Now I know I’m only a shorty, but the seat pitch was fine for me, I could even stand up with ease and get past my row mate without waking them up. The seats I have to admit aren’t the widest but they have lumbar support and they were very comfortable. The headrests also have adjustable ‘wings’ which stops you falling onto your neighbours shoulder when you fall into a stupor or worse still having ...

BACKGROUND INFO:
QANTAS airlines are an Australian based airline. The acronym stands for Queensland and Northern Territory Aerial Services, in case you are interested. Their aeroplanes are easily recognised by their red and white kangaroo logo and the airline is based in Sydney. They carry a large fleet of well-known aeroplanes and jets and have many destinations in Australia, Asia, Polynesia, USA, Europe and South Africa, although Australia and ... ...I found myself on board QANTAS flight QF4. Destination: Sydney.
QANTAS' airport and in-flight services were unlike any of the other airlines' I had experienced previously. At Honolulu, boarding was organised and swift. Families with children and persons who needed support were permitted to board first, followed by specified row numbers. What I liked about boarding was that the attendants called passengers clearly and were stringent in boarding in ...

Advantages: Fantastic in-flight entertainment system, comfy. Disadvantages: Space compromised in an attempt to squeeze in more people.
Qantas is Australia's leading airline and its distinctive logo, a bounding white kangaroo, means the planes are attractive and impossible to mistake for any other. Due to Qantas' recent link with British Airways, they are flying increasing numbers of passengers from the U.K to Australia at relatively cheap rates. Boarding a Qantas plane, you are greeted by the best attempt at genuine cheerfulness I've seen as Australian air-hostesses (yes, accents and all) welcome you aboard. These planes are vast. Truly massive. If you stand at one end, the other can hardly be seen. Seats are positioned in a structure of 3-4-3 across the plane, however you are guided there when you board so there is minimal danger of becoming hopelessly lost. It does happen though ...

...seems that our friends at Qantas are experts at this however. Yes, today we look at the world of Qantas, Australia’s national carrier.
The flights in question are QF002 and QF047, the first involving a trip from London Heathrow to Sydney with a fuel stop in Bangkok and the second flight, QF047 being a short leg from Sydney to Wellington, the capital of New Zealand’s northern island.

Who Qantas Are…
Qantas are the flagship Australian airline, that is, it is their responsibility to ferry people back and forth to their land and make sure that those who pay less to travel in economy class have a very uncomfortable ride indeed.
Their main base sits at Sydney but they also now have plenty of flights between Brisbane and Melbourne – their CityFlyer service has just been extended to offer some very regular ...

The best part of the flight was when I found out that he wouldn’t be on the connecting flight from Singapore to London. ...he past ive notied that Qantas always seem to be one of the cheapest. Bare in mind that when you are travellng this far maybe the cheapest option is not always the best as comfort is a must! At an average of £580 they are pretty well priced and you get your monies worth.

I flew from London Heathrow and so had already stayed the night in London in order to get there for my early check-in. This meant that i was hoping to get everything ... ...i can easily say that Qantas have been the best company that i have flown with so far, and i have flown with a lot of reputable large companies. The flight is not only about the space and ime, its about how to are treated and how far the crew go to make sure your flight is as enjoyable as possible. As a very tough person to please when it comes to flying, you can take my opinion as a pretty good show of how good Quantas are. Who said the Aussies ...

I have flown with Qantas considerably (9 trips to / from Australia) and now actively look for other airlines when flying out that way.
In their favour they do have a great selection of flights and out of any airline on this planet Qantas have to be the long haul experts. Think about it. They hub out of Sydney and it is a 12 - 14 hour flight to the west coast of America. A good 8-9 hours to the first major Asian hubs (Singapore and Bangkok) let alone ... ...crew half way). The only “short haul” international flights they do are to New Zealand and even that takes a few hours, (still less that what it takes to get to Perth). So when it comes long hall – these guys do have the experience.
Other points in their favour:
* Their QF1/2 flight to Sydney via Bangkok is the fastest way to get to Sydney. (23 hours)
* Their frequent flier rewards (I am a silver level member with them so get ...

Advantages: helptful staff, eco friendly breakfast Disadvantages: none, compared to BA
I bought a BA/Quantas combined RTW ticket last summer, which promised me flexibility. Hmmmm. I had no flexibility with british airways, certainly not in the seating dept on the 13 hours flight to singapore. However, this is not about BA. I now love quantas with a passion - I has excellent service with then throughout my time in australia - I sepcially loved their "breakfast in a box" - a healthy and filling breakfast, all in a cardboard box, emblazoned ... ...off the tray and being scattered all over your seatmate, accidentally stabbing them with a plastic knife whilst trying to butter the roll .. nooo.. breakfast in peace, and when finished, all the trash went back into the box, which were stacked up on the trolley by the endlessly cheery and amusing quantas cabin staff. What a joy, I wished the flight could have been longer ! However, the crunch came when I was in New Zealand. I had planned to be there ...

Advantages: great staff, reliable service Disadvantages: fares should fall a little more
Have flown QANTAS six times, long haul, and basically things were fine - they compared well with other major airlines in all respects.
An incident stood out on a flight from Singapore to London. Advantages: EXCELLENT STAFF Disadvantages: NOT MUCH LEG ROOM / LOOK WAIT FOR CONNECTION
I’ve flown with Quantas on a trip to (yes you guessed it) Australia (Cairns). The trip from the UK is very long so be prepared for a marathon trip. The first sector was from London Heathrow to Singapore. We then had a four hour wait in Singapore for out next leg to Darwin. The experience was still a good one (apart from my partners dislike to the turbulence). The staff were excellent. I don’t know how they do it. We were exhausted just travelling never mind working. The overall experience was pleasant and I would have no hesitation ...

Qantas are a very highly respected airline, and I can certainly see why.
I have flown long-haul on Qantas a couple of times, and was very impressed.
No airliner can possibly hope to completely counteract the inevitable boredom and discomfort, but they can try. Qantas tried very hard, and came closer to succeeding than anyone else I've ever seen.
The food was good (excellent, in a couple of cases), the entertainment was entertaining (sounds obvious, ... ...landed it smoothly.
Better still, I believe Qantas have never had a major disaster. Okay, so you're more likely to die falling down the stairs than in a air crash. It's still comforting to know, and Qantas are revered throughout the industry for the their almost peerless safety record. ...

Qantas are based out of australia, and fly into much of south east asia, and onwards to London and various other capitals of europe. They also code share with BA, so you might have a Qantas ticket and might fly with BA, and vice versa!
As for the cost, I have no idea. I know they are not cheap though. As mentioned, I was swapped from my Gulf Air flight!

Was given a fruit juice, and sat down in the seat which resembled one of those egg seats. Was comfy enough, and the leg room was good. Not the most I've seen in a business class though.
So, the important stuff. The service was, well, nothing special to be honest. You just got the air of the staff doing ...

...little disappointed with the services Qantas had to offer. It was a very big, very jumbo jet, and did have lots of flight attendants to serve the pasengers, which was a bonus.
