great airline Review ofQatar Airways - QTRby

Advantages: staff, price, quality of food and drink, connections smooth Disadvantages: shame doha airport isn't larger(this is being done though)
...enough to have travelled with Qatar airways in all 3 classes and wanted to share my experience as i think many people will find it interesting.
Prices:
prise wise, they are pretty similar to rates with similar airlines such as emirates, ethiad, etc but , you may find they do a lot of offer seats so can be much cheaper on certain occasions than their competitors. If you are doing economy for a round trip to bangkok you can get it at around £450pp ...

Advantages: Value for money in business, excellent service, good wine! Disadvantages: No flat bed in business, lower standard on Africa route, premium terminal falls short
...to start my holiday with Qatar Airways flights. The first time was a few years ago when I travelled to Nepal and much more recently I visited Tanzania. A few years of regular business travel has left me with the expensive affliction of being unable to tolerate economy class for much over four hours and so the reason I chose Qatar on both occasions was because the business class fares were the most affordable. Indeed I have noticed that Qatar is often ...

...However, the flights with Qatar were coming up cheaper and for the dates and times we wanted. My husband's family had used Qatar in the past and were pleased with their trips. So, we decided to go with them.
Our flight was from Manchester to Qatar to Bangkok and then the reverse for going home.
~ Booking ~
We booked this flight in January 2007- 11 months before we took the flight. We went to Ausitravel and had them look for our flights. It ...

...by a man in a Qatar Airways suit who crossed us off his list on his clipboard, helped us get are luggage into the queueing system (there was no queue to speak of though). We stood there a couple of mins then checked straight in, all the way through to Bangkok. Our luggage was being checked straight through to.
Boarding was prompt at Manchester, and we were very impressed when we got on the plane, an A330. The cabin crew were all very smily welcoming ...

Advantages: Five Star Service, Low Fares, Very New Aircraft, Generous Frequent Flyer Plan Disadvantages: Change of Plane at Doha...a very cramped Airport. Inconsistant Product.
...go Business Class ever since..... Qatar are a fraction of the cost of Thai or B.A. and I am pleased to have found them as I make the trip to BKK at least three times per year.
In business you get a six course meal on each leg of the journey.... so much food you can't eat on the 2nd leg....
Seats are wonderfully designed to give the feeling of space and electronically adjust to almost a flatbed position, though you are lying at a slight angle. ...

Advantages: spacious, good service, on time, very helpful and understanding Disadvantages: Staff do not speak well english nor arabic
...I then came across the Qatar Airways website and I called their office on one the airports and they were just so helpful and understanding. They asked for my mobile phone number, called around to find the earliest flight and working out my connection from Qatar airport then called me back with all details of at least two current flights. Although they were not able to sort me with a return flight at that time as I wanted to come back on the same week, ...

Advantages: Free shopping and stay in a hotel courtesy of the hotel Disadvantages: Some rude airhostesses
Qatar Airways is a really fabulous airline up to and after some minor hick-ups. Whilst once travelling to Sri Lanka on Qatar Airways, I found that from the flight from London Heathrow to Doha Qatar, a lot of the backpackers travelling to Nepal were treated better than the people travelling to Sri Lanka. When arriving at Doha, people travelling on a flight to Colombo will be put up in a hotel in the city until their flight is ready to leave. This then ...

I travelled on Qatar Airways 2 years ago, and it was unforgetable. I got a business class return trip to Kathmandu Nepal as a birthday present. I was very pleasantly surprised on the trip. I got excellent service from the word go. I had no trouble at check in. When I got on the Plane I took my seat in business class, which was mostly empty apart from two other people. The Crew were very nice to me, especially when they found out I spoke Arabic. The ...

Advantages: New Aircraft. Helpful Staff Disadvantages: Legroom, Movie censorship
Imagine being stuck, motionless at Dakar, Bangladesh on an Arabian airline being served by a stewardess from Blackburn. Bizarre? Oh yes.
She was very efficient and well trained though.
Qatar airlines was started as a hobby by the Crown Prince of Qatar, and he still flies the airliners occasionally. He also lets his pals have a go sometimes. Don't let this put you off though. The Prince's vast quantities of money meant that he was able to invest ...

Advantages: Good leg room, Excellent entertainment facilities, Helpful and friendly Cabin Crew Disadvantages: Staff at check-in and boarding gate speak little English and are not very helpful
...recently flew economy class with Qatar Airways to Kathmandu, Nepal via Doha. The in-flight experience was very pleasant with welcoming and helpful staff, reasonable food and plenty of leg-room for comfort. Rather disappointingly, the administration behind the airline is inadequate. Our flight to Kathmandu from Doha was delayed by 3 hours, and no explanation was given despite repeated enquiries from many passengers, with passengers stuck inside and ...

Never Again!! Review ofQatar Airways - QTRby
DaQueen
Advantages: The Ground Crew in London and Karachi Disadvantages: The In flight crew, The Malfunction of AVOD, Doha Connection
...to do!!
Arrival services: Transfers of Qatar Airways are usually through Doha and the ground staff guide you but with no courtesy that a child is along. The wait at the Doha Airport was for 6 hours, minimum available and the dinner provided was as if in a school cafeteria with one apple, one slice of bread, one piece of chicken!!
Summary: An option I was keen on in the beginning but that completely changed on the way back with inefficient preparations ...

...website never to fly on Qatar Airways.
I originally booked a flight to Delhi and back, one part of which Qatar Airways simply dropped a few days before I was due to fly out. They never contacted me about this as I only learned about it when I phoned their Gatwick number to enquire about an unrelated issue about the flights.
As a replacement flight to the one they dropped (Doha to Gatwick), they put in place a flight that was supposed to fly ...

Advantages: Good and friendly service Disadvantages: Doha Airport
We joined Qatar Airways flight QR079 from Gatwick Airport to Bangkok via Doha in March 2006. The plane, a quite new (by the look of it) Airbus A330/200 was light and clean, and the crew smiling and friendly.
The first leg of the journey, to Doha was 6 hours and passed surprisingly easy. Drinks were served immediately after take-off, followed by lunch, with a choice of 4 main meals. Very tasty.
4 hours into the flight a light snack of a Mexican wrap ...

Advantages: cheap, new aircraft Disadvantages: not very sophisticated - you get what you pay for
We flew economy from Heathrow to Dubai via Doha and back again in May 2004. The airline uses new planes, they were on time, Doha is a small airport (although huge expansion plans have been announced) so it is easy to change flights. The fares were excellent value - booked quite late too. The downside is a flight staff who are willing but not very experienced - a bit of a mixed bag - and in our case, not very good food (although other reviewers found ...

I have made two return trips from the UK to Thailand with Qatar, so as each journey requires a stop in Doha, thats 8 seperate flights.
Six of those were excellent. The flights were on time, the in flight food and entertainment was good (with seat back personal video systems), and the flight attendants were helpful (and seemed to speak just about every known language between them). However on two flights, I have found myself on an older aircraft ...
