Qatar Airways do have very modern aircraft, especially on long haul flights. However, be prepared to put up with unruly children in economy class as their parents are normally 'sitting comfortably' in Club Class! The cabin crew should try and be firmer with these 'little darlings', but the majority of them fear for their jobs as the kids parents are often influential people in Qatar. This probably has something to do with the fact that the majority of air fares from Qatar to the UK are paid by employers to their employees. Qatar airways is a up and coming airline from Qatar. It's prices are very low and the service is not much better. I travelled from London to Nairobi via Doha in July 2006. The entertainment was excellent with the ability to choose what to watch and when; including video games, music, flight tracking and international movies although not all planes are equiped with this facility. The older planes are outdated and do not have the entertainment system. ...

The worst airline that I've ever flown with. Though I've been flying the skies since the age of 6 months, and travelled on numerous airlines of different countries, I havent been on any budget airline. So this comparison is only with world class airlines. Though they boast a new fleet of planes, the service of their stewards, and ground staff are generally abominable especially if you happen to have a darker skin tone. I once travelled with my two kids under the age of 2, and the stewards were rude and did not even help with the stowing of cabin baggage.
