Centrally located just off the A1 between Leeds, York and Selby, this modern hotel has good facilities including a heated indoor pool, and provides an excellent base for exploring Yorkshire.
Advantages: Pool table! Disadvantages: Dirty, run down, shabby...
...a company the size of quality hotel/comfort inn, why should THEY worry about booking it?
This particular hotel, with it's dated 70's/80's design is located in a very run down service area.... the filling station no longer exists. Forecourt full of rubble and a view which is, all things considered, rather depressing! Indeed the first impression of the entrance was that of, to quote my collegue, "a pretty grim service area". I don't know the area ... ...it was upgraded. Indeed, not much further up the road are a couple of derelict pubs. How I wish that hotel went at the same time as the petrol station...
Arrival, with my two other work chums was around 9pm. The person behind the couter did her job, but with no particular enthusiasim or effort... we all get tired, so I'll not judge on this, but you know what they say about first impressions. The hotel passageways were dull and smelt damp.

Advantages: Good room and amenities Disadvantages: evening meal poor and disorganised
Visited for one night stay on February 23rd along with my wife and another couple. We were very happy with the room and anyone taking children will enjoy the heated indoor swimming pool along with other amenities. Unfortunately the couple with us had two single beds pushed together which made for an uncomfortable night for them. Also some rather loud clanging during the night presumably from the water pipes or air conditioning system.
When it came ... ...time we got to the front of a rather chaotic queue there was no pork left and we got an unenthusiastic reply that no more was to come out. No carrots or peas etc, just undercooked cauliflower and broccoli. Although we enjoyed the breakfast the coffee was luke warm and only dregs were left in the teapot. ...
