We stayed in Quality Inn, Charlotte during October 2007. The chain is well known for it's luxury and good srvice, so we were looking forward to a quiet week of relaxation after a month of busy traveling. When we got a taxi from the train station to the hotel, we suddenly realised how far from the city centre this hotel was, despite advertising that it was central and had easy access to the centre of Charlotte. It cost a $20+ taxi ride to ... ...park on the outskirts of the city centre. (The only saving grace we found was a delightful Chili's restaurant that served delicious cheap food and had friendly waiting staff.)
