Advantages: fantastic hotel and facilities Disadvantages: price
The Radisson Edwardian Mayfair is a hotel that I have had the pleasure to stay at on a few occasions now. The hotel has stood in its current location since 1927, however it is only within the last decade that it has been owned by Radisson Edwardian and has recently undergone a large refurbishment. The refurbishment was said to have cost seventy million pounds and having stayed in the hotel before and after I honestly think that it was well worth ... ...this hotel.
*The hotel - first impressions*
The hotel is located in up market Mayfair and is in walking distance of Bond street, Piccadilly circus and Green park. There are excellent transport links and the location is just around the corner from Green Park tube station.
On arrival in our taxi, we arrived outside the large and grand looking building to be greeted by the doorman whom promptly greeted us from our taxi and collected our bags.

Fabulous London hotel - as good as it gets unless you really want to go swish (and pay)!
Recently refurbished and worth every penny.
The rooms are great (OK, no views, but this IS London!) and they have really thought of everything.
Good quality toiletries in the bathroom, big TV, aircon, phone with fax etc. Hotel has two bars - both pretty pretentious, but that is Mayfair for you!
Good location for shopping (especially for Bentleys or Porsches) or sightseeing, plus plenty of local restaurants (Benares is nice - Indian). ...

I stayed at the Mayfair Inter-Continental a few months ago and for a five star hotel I found it very disappointing. The room I stayed in was very pleasant but the service however was not. I had to keep reminding the staff of things I had requested. Going to breakfast in the morning was a palava, we had to go out of the hotel and across the road just to eat. The hotel was situated in a very nice area of Mayfair and close to the tube and main attractions ...
