Advantages: Excellent location and well priced for Manhattan Island Disadvantages: Noisy renovations currently and a bit tired in places, but clean
The New Yorker is in an excellent midtown location with the subway (lines A, C & E) literally steps outside. Being on the corner of 8th Avenue and 34th Street this meant good access to Macy's, Empire State Building, Madison Square Gardens and the Manhattan Mall. Advantages: Location, Price, Staff Disadvantages: Slightly small rooms
We stayed at the New Yorker April 2006. We found the rooms weren\'t huge but enough space for two and extremely good on price.
The staff were all really friendly but not in that overly patronising way that can sometimes happen in the USA.

Advantages: Great location, clean and tidy. Disadvantages: A little dated, but being refurbished.
My wife and I stayed at the New Yorker Hotel between 20th - 25th May 2008. The staff were always very helpful and curtious. The room decor was a little dated, but clean and tidy. The hotel is undergoing a refurbishment, but the work was not noticeable to the guests. The "tick-tock" diner is located in the front entrance of the hotel, which was very good for breakfast, with a great service! The hotel location is great, with the subway just outside ...

The New Yorker has had a very colourful past, with the some of the very biggest names having stayed there. Ali, stayed there in the early 70's after losing at Madison Square Garden. It has to be said though that ...
