Advantages: Cheap, excellent location. Disadvantages: Grubby and bad check in.
...one single room at The Regent Palace Hotel.
~~~Where is The Regent Palace?
You will find the hotel just off Regents Street and Piccadilly Circus, overlooking the statue of Eros, and not far from Shaftsbury Avenue, Oxford Street and, of course, The Criterion Theatre. We travelled to London on the cheap bus service called Megabus (a return to London for £2.00 each plus a 50p booking fee), so we had to get to the hotel from Greenline Station (not ... ...rooms have no facilities and Regent rooms have bathrooms). It also gets pretty busy during the week with business guests, so there may not be another room to swap to if yours isn’t right.
~~~Check In & Check Out.
You can’t check into your room until 2pm on the day of arrival and when you do, make sure you allow plenty of time to do so. There is a queuing system for the reception and you have to fill in a form with all your details before you join ...

...I looked at featured the Regent Palace and each time it appeared I ignored it; after a luckless hour or so I was forced to concede defeat. It looked like we would be going straight home. There was only one option available - increase the budget. And this is how we came to stay at the Regent Palace Hotel - and the budget didn't even have to be increased. I was surprised to find that we could book a double room with private bathroom for the princely ... ...the plushest part of the Regent Palace; climb the stairs or walk the corridors and you'll find the reality is a little different - threadbare carpets, chipped paintwork, big dents in the walls and in some places pictures have been taken down and you can see what colour the walls were originally. It's not much better in the rooms where threadbare carpet and faded curtains await you once again. With barely enough room to swing a cat you'll be glad ...

Advantages: Location, location, location Disadvantages: Value outweighs anything else
...We found lastminute.com advertising the Regent Palace Hotel at a very good price so booked with a bit trepidation as it was said to be in the heart of Picadilly and at £66 per night per double ensuite room, wouldn't you be sceptical?
But what a great choice. OK, it wasn't the lap of luxury but when it said heart of Picadilly, they weren't kidding! You come off the underground following signs for Regent Street and there, across the road is the hotel.
... ...entertainment complex right next door (which I've forgotten the name of). The hotel doesn't do breakfast but is attached to an Irish bar which does food all day at reasonable cost and is only a five minute walk from Chinatown with all of it's restaurants, ten minutes from Leicester Square and fifteen from Covent Garden. It also has a restaurant called the Atlantic right in the basement where you can go for a good two or three course pre-theatre dinner ...

Advantages: Fantastic central location. Very cheap. Disadvantages: Poor standards,
...the internet I found the Regent palace at a budget price of £59.00 for an ensuite room, not including breakfast but that didn't bother us as we only wanted somewhere central to sleep. We parked the car at Euston and caught the tube to picadilly circus, after we left the tube station we were expecting to see the Regent palace, but it was not the case, I had the print out with the details...... over looking eros. We could see Eros but not this grand ... ...side street, first impression was that it looked old but ok. The reception looked very impressive, and I was plesantly suprised, we checked in after about a 5 minute wait, the staff were friendly but not english so concentration was needed to hear what they were saying to us.
We got our key and started up the stairs to our 3rd floor room, there was a couple of lifts but there was also quite a que for these. As we went up the stairs the decor was ...

Advantages: Big, Centered, Somewhat Cheap Disadvantages: Not The best Rooms In The World
...year, I went to the Regent Palace in Picadilly for a short 3-day weekend trip to London, as a break from work. Centered just off Picadilly Circus, which is one of the most publicised places in London, it has good access to the London Underground, a whole range of resteraunts and is just off Piccadilly's Chinatown.
Starting with the reception. As you go in, it has a shop to your right and a cafe to your left. The Regent Palace offers an Internet ... ...However, the staff in the Regent Palace aren't the best in the World either. A lot of them are foreign, and don't get me wrong, they do their job as well as the next person, but their accents are a bit hard to understand, but otherwise, they are a friendly bunch.
The building is situated quite remotely, and can be hard to find if you don't know the area, but being less than 5 minutes from the Picadilly-line tube station, it's not really a bother.

Advantages: central, cheap Disadvantages: noisy, dirty, constant fire alarms,
and i have to agree..it is...one of the worst. It was on britains worst hotels.
i stayed with my boyfriend and a group of friends, it was recommended to me by someone who (hates me ) i think! okok it is absolutely central right in the heart of piccadilly. BUT dont forget the private shower room is absolutely tiny, think airplane toilet! and it makes so much noise!
The staff was fairly helpful, there was one guy who was very very kind and was sympathetic ... ...rooms due to the fact the plumbing didnt work (which never happened) big mixup but others were not so nice who had changed the codes on our key and then asked if we actually stayed in the hotel!

Advantages: Location, cheap for where it is Disadvantages: Cramped "bathroom", sloooow check-in.
You can't get much nearer to the the thick of it all (for this kind of price - £99 room only) than this hotel - walk out the front door, look up and Piccadilly's famous neon ads are right there.
Checking-in is a bit of a nightmare - it has taken ages (for example, 25 minutes) all 3 times I have stayed there, simply due to the sheer volume of people checking in (many large parties who always seem to manage to cause a hold up somehow) compared to ... ...There are hundreds of rooms, but I think most of them are not en-suite with shared showers on each landing. However I'm reviewing the en-suite rooms which seem a new addition to the hotel. The rooms are poky (but so are most in London) and the "bathroom" is even pokier - it looks like a portaloo unit(with toilet, basin and shower cubicle) has been dropped into the corner of your room. Like I said the "bathroom" is really cramped, but clean (probably ...
