This 5 star Renaissance hotel was outstanding value for money!
Location
The renaissance hotel is located in the European quarter of the city. This is fairly quiet on weekends with the European parliament and surrounding offices being closed. Good if you want peace and quiet but definitely not in the heart of the action.
It was about 200m away from Luxemborg Square which contains several ... ...8 Euros to the grand place). We stopped off here for a drink on one of the nights and there was little or no excitement so swiftly made our way to the lively Saint Gery (right near the Grand place where all the good bars and restaurants are)
The Grand place which is the main Square of the city and close to many of the attractions, bars, restaurants and shopping is only about 20 minutes walk away (Girls beware: do not attempt to walk this in heels ...

Advantages: Beautiful hotel and great value Disadvantages: Not too near the city centre
The Renaissance Hotel in Brussels forms part of the Renaissance chain of Hotels which in turn is owned by Marriott. I stayed at this hotel whilst on holiday in Brussels in August 2003 and found the hotel to be really good value in Summer (as all the business people are on holidays so the best time and cheapest time to visit Brussels is this time of year!)
The room:
The hotel bedroom that we had was well furnished and came with two Queen size beds, ... ...The room had a TV with satellite TV and a few okay English channels including BBC World. It also came with the usual trapping such as hairdryer, in room safe (very useful for passports and money!) as well as an iron and ironing board and trouser press. If you are here on business there is a large desk with ISDN line connection (charge for using the line).
