Malaysia's very well located for stop overs, and last year when I left the UK for Australia I broke by journey there to enjoy a few days in Kuala Lumpur. I had about 2 months to book my hotel after finding a cheap flight deal, so nosed around the internet until I found the Renaissance. It looked reasonable, was nice and cheap and had rooms available for the dates I needed so I booked it.

Advantages: Great service and cheap for a 5 star hotel Disadvantages: May need to book a room in advance
...are two sites to the Renaissance Hotel. There is the Renaissance Wing Deluxe and the New World Wing Superior. There is not much difference, Renaissance Wing Deluxe is a little more luxury, which each room will cost more. I stay at the New World Wing Superior. I paid RM 185 (approx £26) excluding service charge and 5% gov tax. Rates will changes depending on the month of the year (See below).
