...of our time at the RIU Tropical Bay, due to delays we were somewhat relieved to finally arrive. We had chosen this hotel as we stayed at another RIU property in the Dominican Republic last year, and thought it'd be up to the same standard we expected.

The RIU Tropical Bay is a 400+ room 4.5 / 5 star a all-inclusive hotel, meaning once you are there, money is optional. The only things you'll need cash for is shopping, excursions, some water sports and tips at your discretion. So eat as much and drink as much as you possibly can, and take advantage of all the facilities they offer.

I stayed at the Riu Tropical Bay in April 2008 for two weeks with my boyfriend.
I absolutely adored the hotel and can hardly fault it at all. It had everything I would want from a holiday; gorgeous weather, wide sandy beaches, delicious food, yummy cocktails and much more! The staff and entertainment were exceptional. The staff were unbelievably energetic and lively, despite the ridiculously long hours that they worked. I stayed at this hotel when I came to Negril with my family, and to be honest there wasn't much difference between them, although I think that over the summer the Riu Tropical Bay has been upgraded to a palace, so perhaps that is the nicer of the two now.
