Royal Hotel, San Remo

We booked this holiday through an Irish travel company called Abbey travel based in Dublin and although it was expensive (Italy usually is expensive in my opinion), we loveld the look of the hotel. Flight was to Nice form Dublin with a personal taxi transfer to San Remo at hurtling speeds across the French/Italian border. ...The rooms are sumptious and the decor is right out of an antique catalogue, the clientelle are all well heeled and the atmosphere is like out of a 1930's novel with Brits abroad emulating the grand tour of the 18th century. As we are in Italy, it goes without saying that the food was gorgeous throughout our stay and the Italian style pervades every single aspect of the experience. Sheer style and Class!
