THANK YOU MR O'LEARY - YOU GOT US HOME!

Advantages: Very Cheap Flights. "Interesting" Destinations. Looked After Me!
Disadvantages: "Interesting Destinations". Cut Price Service at Stanstead.

...As you probably know, Ryanair was the very first of the low-cost airlines, founded in 1985, really taking off (lousy pun, forgive me!) since their flamboyant Chief Executive, Michael O'Leary started fronting the business in 1988. Founded, as it remains, very much a "no-frills" airline, it competed initially more with bus and coach operators than with existing airlines. That was soon not to be the case though. Ryanair proved that, as a business, ...
...cases went out of business. Ryanair now face low-cost competition from many sources, Easy Jet being the highest profile here, although Central Wings are giving them a good run for their money in Europe. Ryanair quickly gained a rather dodgy reputation, largely fuelled I think by the existing airlines who were flying more than half empty planes and charging grossly inflated prices for their service. Operating various cartels, they managed to make ...

The "on time airline"?? You get what you pay for

Advantages: Cheap flights if you get them in time
Disadvantages: rude staff, dirty planes, not reliable in my experience

...us to go to the Ryanair helpdesk in the next section of the airport. When we walked through to where all the Ryanair check-in desks are, and also their helpdesk, we saw a massive group of people who looked like they were queing for the help desk. I wasn't suprised though because I knew it was a full flight, having checked if the prices of the tickets had gone up in the last couple of days, I found that there were none left for that particular flight. ...
...done lots of research and ryanair itself says that you can fly to the Republic of Ireland with current photo ID, and children flying with adults do not require ID. We had taken my sons birth certificate, just in case, but couldn't find my daughters so took her out of date passport instead. The person at the check-in desk asked if we had birth certificates for the children, so I explained what we had brought and she accepted them with no problems ...

The Ultimate Guide to Ryanair.

Advantages: CHEAP (1p), Punctual, Network of Routes
Disadvantages: Can be Unclean, "Point-to-Point"

Having just come off a Ryanair flight from Italy into London yesterday, I think it is fair to say that I can give the most up-to-date detailed opinions of the Ryanair service, as well as the latest information. Yesterday or any other occasions (flown 30 times with Ryanair), I have never had a problem so I am surprised by all the negative reviews but can understand that a flight could turn into a disastrous nightmare ‘if’ things go wrong. Negatives ...

...that. The trouble is, RyanAir fly from my local airport - Stansted - offer exceptionally low prices - £1.54 per person plus taxes on our last trip to Spain - and have good links to most European destinations that I've needed to travel to for fun and income. Often, the decision to use this airline has not been mine, but a financial decision by former employers. But if the above was all I needed then this review would be over already, with a big fat ...
...to RyanAir than meets the eye. Marketing themselves as the "On-Time Airline", RyanAir do indeed have an excellent reputation for punctuality, and the good news carries on with the aircraft themselves. They're modern, often fitted with plush looking leather seats and the crew are always well dressed, giving the look and feel of much larger, more expensive airline. The no-frills side of RyanAir comes in once you sit down. The cabins themselves are ...

...say that I have used Ryanair on numerous occasions and until my last flight I had never had any problems. These I will go into later, first a bit about Ryanair. *************** The Company *************** Founded in 1985 Ryanair are based in Ireland and are currently Europe's largest low-cost carrier (according to wikipedia anyway). Certainly I remember in the news over the past year or so that they seem to keep purchasing new aircraft suggesting ...
...this is quite common with Ryanair in that they rarely fly you to a city's main airport. Their planes are white with blue and yellow colouring, a scheme which is also worn by the crew both on the ground and in the air. **************** Booking flights **************** As an idiot of economics I think that one reason why Ryanair and other low-cost airlines offer such great deals is that virtually everything is conducted over the phone or on the ...

RYAINAIR REVIEW NO. 142

Advantages: cheap, cheap, cheap.... can get you to places weird and wonderfull at a fraction of a normal price
Disadvantages: airports choice (especially for big cities); in-flight food and drink; not very helpful when things go wrong (or so it is said)

...been considering NOT writing another Ryanair review as there seems to be great many on the site already (over 140). However, majority of them are quite old and the last one is from December last year so I decided to describe the Ryanair experience without putting too much of the general factual information into the op. However, to keep the obsession with completeness satisfied, here is some basics, feel free to skip if you know everything or even ...
...Rome, Girona and Brussles. Ryanair uses out-of-the way, smaller airports but I DO feel that the terribly negative opinion on that score is slightly unfair. It is true that as far as big, big cities with multiple airports go Ryanair uses facilities which are often miles away and sometimes even in another country (as in Malmo for Copenhagen). However, for many smaller locations they simply use the local airport and actually being able to fly to those ...

Then something flashed up 'Delay' - great an English word, was I going to get another word to ease my inquiring mind; no. - A blank screen and the fog was descending further and getting worse. - the airport shops were closing down, except for a Kiosk, maybe information has been transporting directly to the Kiosk and it was with-holding vital flight details just to test my Spanish, I got ...

I communicated and it was useless but at least I moved from my position and stretched myself. Is 'Ireland's Shame' too strong?

Advantages: Cheap(ish), quick check-in if you're lucky
Disadvantages: Soulless, unforgiving staff, 'couldn't care less' attitude

*The premise* Ryanair sprang up among the rash of budget airlines that helped every Britain take the bare minimum of holidays a year required not to go insane (at least three according to the popular press) and made it possible for every second Briton to buy a delightful holiday home in a former Soviet bloc country where the lawn was trimmed by the goat who happened to be living in the sitting room of said holiday home. Sarcasm aside, Ryanair continues ...
...*Flight booking with Ryanair - more 'will they, won't they?' than Ross and Rachel!* I've had the misfortune to book flights with Ryanair on a couple of occasions and migraine inducing website aside, there's one very significant issue with the airline as a company - lack of trust. Due to the fact that multiple family members have had flights cancelled (costing them £££s in re-booking costs) and because Ryanair are well known for culling their routes, ...

Advantages: how much cheaper can you get?
Disadvantages: cheapness comes with a price

...are hundreds of opinions about Ryanair around there, but at first sight quite alarming amount of them seem to be positive. And why are they positive? Because whatever happens to some few thousand unfortunate passengers travelling on Ryanair, there are always tens of thousands of people who enjoy their cheap air travel and with a bit of luck, without problems. NO THRILLS, NO FRILLS. Ryanair has taken to this point a bit too literally. This policy ...

However, since this opinion is about Ryanair rather than the people who travel with them (like myself used to), I’m not going to go into that minor detail any further. In the defence of those people though, I would like to add that this shoving and pushing (in order to get to and from the plane) is usually caused by ...

Look here - they are cheap. Last summer we got 3 people to Italy and back for £120. For that price we are lucky to get a plane with wings. ...of the excellent offers that Ryanair have. Like any budget airline, the price of tickets rises the closer you get to the date on which you are going to fly. If you spot a really cheap flight, it is often better to take it right away as you could go back the next day and the price may have doubled by then. Another thing about the prices of flights, in particular to the continent, is that the return flight is almost always a lot more than the flight ...

Don't expect that breakfast in the little plastic container that you get with more expensive airlines because you won't be getting it.
