Advantages Advantages Very Cheap Flights. "Interesting" Destinations. Looked After Me!

Disadvantages Disadvantages "Interesting Destinations". Cut Price Service at Stanstead.

Update: 14.02.06. Following last night's Channel 4 "Despatches" programme I have to say that if I knew then, what I know now, I would definitely NOT be flying on Ryanair. Whilst my opinion remains that the media generally give the low cost airlines a "bad press" and that this programme went "looking" for trouble, the number of very obvious safety and procedure breaches that they found was too great in number to be dismissed as "minor" or in any way "one off" occurrences. My following review has not been altered in any way, as it remains a truthful accound of our experiences on the day, which I ... more

I will be writing about the airline company which took me on my last foreign trip, namely Ryanair. There are times in life when there comes a moment that you have had enough, be it because of other people, work is becoming too stressed or studies are driving you mad … that you then decide to find some sort of outlet which will relieve those pressures and stresses. To relieve all these pressures, there are many outlets and many different ways of doing things. If time is precious, you can go to the cinema, you can go out with friends, and if you have a little bit more time available, you can ... more

Advantages Advantages Cheap flights if you get them in time

Disadvantages Disadvantages rude staff, dirty planes, not reliable in my experience

This year we were planning on having a nice family holiday but as things turned out, we couldn't go when we wanted to and we also decided to do a lot of work on the house so just couldn't afford to do both. The kids were really disappointed that we weren't going on a plane as my daughter has only been abroad once (to Euro Disney, which we travelled to on the Euro Tunnel) and my 4 year old son has never travelled abroad. Two years ago me and my husband went to Majorca and we really wanted to take the kids over there but in the end, we just couldn't do it this year. I was laid in bed one night a ... more

Having just come off a Ryanair flight from Italy into London yesterday, I think it is fair to say that I can give the most up-to-date detailed opinions of the Ryanair service, as well as the latest information. Yesterday or any other occasions (flown 30 times with Ryanair), I have never had a problem so I am surprised by all the negative reviews but can understand that a flight could turn into a disastrous nightmare ‘if’ things go wrong. Negatives aside, Ryanair have changed the way we travel from A to B. We no longer have to suffer from BA and other high-cost carriers as Irish Ryanair has ... more

Advantages Advantages Cheap, punctual, many european desintations

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Crew attitude

It's difficult to do a review when actual people are involved, especially when your views are very negative. Usually, here on Ciao!, we're reviewing - or chatting about - inanimate objects that might not take it personally if we slag them off, but when it comes to reviewing an airline and talking about the attitude of their crew, you can hurt people's feelings; but here goes nothing. When it comes to flying, I've had the good fortune to travel round the planet on both major airlines and budget carriers. On both business and leisure journeys, I've enjoyed the imperious first class cabins of ... more

THIS IS THE SAME REVIEW AS BEFORE - JUST SCROLL TO THE BOTTOM IF YOU WISH TO SEE HOW THINGS WERE RESOVLED.... To set things up I must say that I have used Ryanair on numerous occasions and until my last flight I had never had any problems. These I will go into later, first a bit about Ryanair. *************** The Company *************** Founded in 1985 Ryanair are based in Ireland and are currently Europe's largest low-cost carrier (according to wikipedia anyway). Certainly I remember in the news over the past year or so that they seem to keep purchasing new aircraft suggesting that business ... more

Advantages Advantages cheap, cheap, cheap.... can get you to places weird and wonderfull at a fraction of a normal price

Disadvantages Disadvantages airports choice (especially for big cities); in-flight food and drink; not very helpful when things go wrong (or so it is said)

I have been considering NOT writing another Ryanair review as there seems to be great many on the site already (over 140). However, majority of them are quite old and the last one is from December last year so I decided to describe the Ryanair experience without putting too much of the general factual information into the op. However, to keep the obsession with completeness satisfied, here is some basics, feel free to skip if you know everything or even most about Ryanair. *** General*** www.ryanair.com is THE cheap flights airline, no doubts about it. Nobody else allows you to travel paying ... more

So this year I had to do the obligatory holiday. I personally don't really like holidays too much. Holidays are generally to hot countries with horrible food that they dole out in meagre portions. Rude people, smelly, scruffy animals and a general lack of rain. This year I had to go to France to meet friends that I'd almost rather not see anymore but they insisted on me coming. (How do you tell people you don't like them? I wish there was a simple formal procedure devoid of any reaction on their part) "So," I thought "if I'm going to have to go in for this £%@* I'm bloody well not going to be ... more

As we were fast approaching June and still had no plans for a break-away this year I was getting more and more frustrated that we were halfway through the year and I had still not used any of my holidays until I heard the ping of new email arriving into my inbox, it was the usual airline updates that I get working in flight reservations notifying me to any promotional offers so I decided to take a look as usual I dismissed them all and carried on with my work, nothing overly interesting until a few hours later I received a forward from a colleague advising me that flights were currently ... more
