Nervous flyer? -Try Ryanair

Advantages: Cheap, very helpful staff, friendly, punctual
Disadvantages: None

...return flight to Blackpool on Ryanair from Stanstead. We arrived at Stanstead about 90 minutes before the flight and easily found the right check-in desks. There was no queue and the lady who served us was extremely friendly and helpful. We had no baggage to check in but we were travelling with our 1 year old son and his pushchair for the first time. She said that we were welcome to hang on to the pushchair right up until we boarded the plane where ...
...hold for us. Ryanair do not allocate seats and so we had first choice as we got on the plane first. We chose our seats and sat down. At this point my husbad started to panic and hyperventilate and said that he did not think that he could go through with the flight. I tried to calm him down without success. He got up and stood at the top of the aircraft steps while the rest of the passengers were boarding. The steward came out to see if he was ok ...

Advantages: Cheap on certain flights, rarely late
Disadvantages: Airports aren't always near city

you get monkeys, well not quite with Ryanair. You can't expect much for the cheap fairs offered. I do the Leeds - Dublin flight quite often for between 50-85. Sometimes it is cheaper but usually around this price. Avoid: Travelling on a Friday or Sunday. V.expensive for obvious reasons. I usually travel Thurs eve - Mon morning. Flying to Frankfurt (hahn). Hahn is an hour away from Frankfurt and invloves a bus journey. I had a problem getting a ...

BUT: The website is v.easy to use now after a lot of changes this year. On the one occasion when I messed up a booking, I phoned them straightaway and after a bit of a sob story, they changed it, altho it's in their terms that the flights can not be changed so be v.careful when booking. Budget airline that delivers

Advantages: Excellent value
Disadvantages: Cheap and cheerful

...of Italy and noticed that Ryanair were flying to Ancona, right in the heart of the area. They had - as they often do - a special promotion, and, after initial problems with their website I was able to book the flight I wanted, on the dates I wanted, at the advertised price (Less than £40 return including taxes). Check in at Stansted was slightly disorganised, but we had allowed a good margin of time, unlike several people who were caught up in the ...

Anyone who wishes to travel cheaply and efficiently to the areas covered by Ryanair (Italy/France/Switzerland) , especially at low / medium season should seriously consider this excellent airline. ...

Come fly with me...

Advantages: cheap and on time
Disadvantages: Stanstead is a long way away from the East Midlands

Ryanair is truly a no frills airline. It gets me from A to B at a very good rate which is all I really want. Beware though to book as early as possible. (And it flies to destinations easyjet and Bmibaby don't cater for (reus and Leipzig for example). Unfortunately most of the popular european destination can only be reached from London Stanstead which is a bit of a minus, we could really do with flights from Birmingham or Nottingham East Midlands. ...
...boarding gate. To be honest, Ryanair must have the cheapest rate in the airport as the boarding gates are miles away and you can't take the train! They have now introduced this system of checking in by numbers on your boarding pass. 1-65 first, and then the remaining 66+. Another downside is that you can't choose your seat until you board the plane, being early makes all the difference. However, on my recent trip I found noone wants to occupy the ...

Ryania is a Scam

Advantages: None
Disadvantages: Ryaniar charges so many fees that you don't save any money.

Ryanair is a scam. They start out by selling 99p tickets but then charge for baggage, checkin, and various other fees. Once you buy a ticket then they add even more fees once you check in for excess baggage or any other incidental that they can scam you out of. Ryanair does not issue assigned seating so you are stuck with what you get. They also charge 3 pounds for a cup of coffee once you are on board the plane. You are coralled like cattle through ...
...The experience isn't worth the money you spend and the attendents can be quite rude. It is one of the worst flying experiences I have ever had (and thats saying a lot.) I recommend taking Aer Lingus instead. You will spend less or as much and you will get assigned seating at least. ...

Lowcost, safe, alternative

Advantages: Lowcost
Disadvantages: Convenience, Airports they fly to

Dating back to 1985, Ryanair is the original lowcost, domestic European airline. It has expanded massively in the past decade, adding a completely modern fleet of single type aircraft (737-800) and enlarging their route map to a baffling squiggle of connections and hubs (now 132 destinations in Europe and Morocco). Despite all the undeniable promotions and tempting low fares, there is another side to Ryanair one should bare in mind before booking. ...
...often said this is how Ryanair make their money (along with duty free goods). Be careful too when booking to Oslo Torp or Franfkurt. These airports are actually very far from the cities they are named after. In fact, many of Ryanair's destinations are "off the beaten track". Check thoroughly where you are actually flying to! Overall, Ryanair comply with all aviation regulations are in theory no less safe than any other airline (not a single fatality ...

Liverpool to Italy with Ryanair

Advantages: low cost, easy to book, online booking, great destination
Disadvantages: awful decor

...and yellow interior, flying with Ryanair can be an unexpected joy. Like many low-cost airlines Ryanair have cut out the frills to give its travellers a range of destinations at prices which won't break the bank. This Springtime my daughter and I took advantage of £10 flights and headed to Italy from Liverpool. The adverts did say that it was Milan we were heading to but in truth we were almost one hour away from Milano and landed at Orio airport, ...
...all the low cost airlines, Ryanair operates on a speedy turnaround so you are expected to look lively when you board and disembark, though obviously those who struggle are given the greatest amount of attention and aided on and off board. You will also be expected to clean up after yourself, which in fairness is something we should all be doing as a matter of course. I would recommend Ryanair to anyone. I just wish they would bring back the Liverpool ...

Would recommend anytime

Advantages: cost, number of routes
Disadvantages: they dont fly enough routes

I have flown Ryanair many many times, and a number of other airlines in the UK and overseas. Ok they may not offer the most fantastic service and pamper your every need. But ont he routes that they fly why would you want anything else? I have read through the opinions on the airline, and whilst I agree with some of them, I find it amazing that people complain about what they dont get from Ryanair. Lets be honest if you pay for a 'cheap' flight ...

Ryanair is not good for business

Advantages: price if you are aware that you'll be late!
Disadvantages: not good for business travelers

I flew with Ryanair from Belfast to London Stansted. The whole experience was extremely stressful. First, I had to wake up at the crack of dawn to get to the airport... Then, because Ryanair can't do things like everyone else, and has its own set of rules in terms of luggage weight, insurane, (read them over carefully before agreeing to embark on this journey), there wasn't not one moment where one could sit back and relax before his flight. From ...
...end of the bargain, which Ryanair doesn't. It's not because you offer cheap fares that you can be late for example. My flight was 45 mins late and because of that, I was late for a meeting. I'd much rather Ryanair increase its prices than be late. And I'm not even going to mention customer service, which is, to say the least, inexistent. It is impossible for me to recommend this airline to anyone who is travelling for business and I wouldn't fly ...

No tickets, fuss or frills

Advantages: cheap, good deals
Disadvantages: no tickets

I travel with Ryanair about 3 times a year. They really have great deals. Keep an eye out well before the time you intend to travel so you can get the best deal. Firstly you should try to book as early as possible as the first seats always have the lowest price range. Try and see if a slight variation of dates makes any difference to ticket price. I halfed the price of my ticket by going a day early. Mess around with different date combinations on ...
...Look out for tokems in newspapers a lot of them offer 2 return flights for £50 or similar to different destinations, of course there are travel date restrictions but if it suits you then it's well worth it. Don't expect all the usual trimmings, remember it's a low fares airlines and I'm happy as long as it gets me from a to b. It may not be the best choice for long distance flights as there is not much leg room but it does the job it's supposed to ...

The Shrift is Short for BA

Advantages: Cheap, fly to many UK cities
Disadvantages: No flights beyond Europe; expensive in-flight munchies

...and the answer is simple: Ryanair gets a share of money made by people booking rental cars or hotels at their destination. If they meet your requirements, go ahead and book - if not, just take the cheap flights! Of course by paying less there are limitations. Your ticket is non-transferable, non-refundable so you lose out if you can't travel for any reason. The cabins are more cramped than on more expensive airlines and if you buy snacks or drinks ...

Sometimes you get more than you pay for

Advantages: Cheap and cheerful, lots of flights
Disadvantages: Long waiting times, be careful where you are flying to

I have travelled with Ryanair approx 15 times. Prior to this year I had a few problems with long queues to check-in. Lack of staff etc. This year I have found them to be much improved. Thus far I have travelled Stansted-Hamburg. Luton-Dublin and Stansted-Turin (returning from all places). With all 6 of these flights there were none of the delays that I was half expecting. The check-in ran smoothly and quickly and the planes departed more or less ...
...to be careful of with Ryanair is where you are actually flying to: when I flew to Hamburg, it was actually Lubeck Airport we landed at - about 1 hr 15 mins and 8 eur single (16 return) to Hamburg - coach stops right outside main train station. But so long as you know tihs is advance it is not a problem. A number of Ryanair destinations are like this so always check beforehand (you may well be arriving at a little used / ex-military airport out ...

East Midlands to Dublin by Ryanair

Advantages: Cheap, efficient, easy to book, friendly service
Disadvantages: Weight restriction on luggage

...and Easy Jet, I found Ryanair to be by far the cheapest option. The website itself is very easy to use www.ryanair.com, and also includes some very useful search tools for accomodation and airport car parking. Ryanair offers flights to the majority of the main European cities you might want to visit on business or for a short leisure break. Check-in for my flight opened 90 minutes before departure and closes 20 minutes before, and all I needed to ...
...75% full. The planes Ryanair uses are a new fleet, ours being a Boeing 737. They are somewhat brightly coloured inside, the seats and overhead lockers being blue and yellow in colour - guaranteed to keep you wide awake! The air crew were fantastic. There are no meals served on short flights, but there are snacks, sandwiches, drinks and duty free availalble which seemed to look fairly varied. In fact you can order hot sandwiches and hot dogs, which ...

Good Value, good service

Advantages: Cheap, efficient
Disadvantages: On board refreshments alittle pricey

I recently travelled from Stansted to Malmo with Ryan Air and was very satisfied with the standard of service I received from this airline. It was easy to book online and as you only need to take note of your booking reference number, there are no tickets to get lost in the post! Ryanair

Advantages: Cheap
Disadvantages: Gets you from A to B, and not much else.

...be honest, i dont like Ryanair and would rather pay a little bit extra to avoid flying with them. However, i recently flew with them to Aarhus in Denmark. As far as i know, Ryanair are the only airline flying from London to Aarhus so i didnt have much option. The flight itself was cheap, about £50 return (including taxes and the fee for using my debit card). I checked the price a couple of weeks later and was amazed to find it had dropped to £25. ...
...should probably be grateful that Ryanair do not cut corners when it comes to safety. But overall, i couldnt complain. It got me to and from my destination for a reasonable price. I only ever use Ryanair if they are SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper than other airlines. If you are willing to just take hand luggage and forego the complimentary cups of tea / coffee that you get on other airlines, Ryanair isnt that bad an option. ...
