Flying Low (Budget!)

Advantages: Heavy discounts for advanced bookings. Easy online booking.
Disadvantages: Expensive in-flight refreshments, cramped seating, poor baggage allowance.

...from A to B, cheaply! RyanAir certainly performed in this department and I would recommend it to anyone in a similar situation. Now, when your studying for a Geology degree like me you get to choose from a wide range of exotic destinations to do your fieldwork such as Spain and Cyprus. But alas, money constraints meant that for us a trip to Ireland was in order. We looked around for a budget airline that would fly us to Dublin and we decided to ...
...when you book your flight. RyanAir operates an open seating policy on its planes, so seating is on a first come, first served basis. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ BAGGAGE ALLOWANCES ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Carry on baggage is limited to one item per person weighing 10kg, while the checked baggage allowance is 15kg per person. I must admit that this wasn't enough for me as I was carrying luggage for a five week stay, and I had some heavy specialist equipment ...

Lyingair ruined my holiday

Advantages: They get you there I suppose
Disadvantages: Dubious prices, rubbish crew and no customer serivce

Founded in 1985 Lyingair has grow to become one of the big European players in the low airfares, short haul passenger market. They are renowned for good deals, cheap airfares and expensive in-flight sandwiches. I was recommended to Lyingair by a friend, 'They're cheap and you can't go wrong with them', he said. Getting a flight with Lyingair is easiest over the internet. Forget any other way of booking, phone, letter or email, as no one above an ...
...know how to reply to letters or emails. At the internet site you can click on your departing airport, then the destination airport and you move on to the next page. Airports available are almost exclusively of the small provincial type one of which I reviewed in my last inane opinion. I won't pad my review out with a list, but they include airports of dubious locations to the name given. For instance Oslo(Torp, Sandefjord) is 75 miles from Oslo, ...

CHEAP FREE FOR ALL!

Advantages: Cheap Flights!
Disadvantages: Chaotic at times!

...It also stated that Ryanair was a ticketless airline which meant that if I decided to book then no tickets would be issued, each passenger would have to bring along suitable photographic identification along with the confirmation number at time of booking in which is normally 2 hours prior to each departure. I proceeded to book and entered details of all passengers including full names and my home address, contact email and phone number, all the ...
...hour and 15 minutes but Ryanair managed to catch up on their late start and landed on time, taking only 1 hour and 5 minutes. During the flight the air hostess’ handed out brochures of duty free products available to purchase, I was surprised to learn we could purchase everything except for cigarettes and alcohol, although it was not that much cheaper, so in fact it probably wasn’t duty free at all, but it was slightly cheaper so still ...

Up, Up and Away

Advantages: Very cheap flights, various destinations
Disadvantages: No luxury here

Ryanair have to be one of the cheapest airlines around. They have now expanded their bases around the UK and you can get to destinations (mainly Dublin I have to say) from an airport fairly local to you. Stansted is still the main airport but there is a fair range of destinations to be chosen from this airport. Choose from airports in: · France · Spain · Italy · Sweden · Germany · Belgium · Sardinia · Ireland And others are available. OUR ...

Ryanair do not however provide you with meal vouchers or hotel accommodation for any delayed flights. · Baggage is limited to 15kg (which is not a lot!) and any excess is charged at 4.00 per kilo. Your luggage should be name tagged with your name and address, contact number and flight details. ...

Not For Me

Advantages: good leg room, snacks service
Disadvantages: delays, not the cleanest

...before I have heard of Ryanair as have most people but I still hadn't flown with them yet. Easyjet are not as cheap as they used to be so I looked at Ryanair, I was booking my flight to Ireland and having checked out many airlines they definitely offered the best as my flight worked out as being somewhere around £25 which for a return to me is amazing. The website is very easy to use as you just click where you are starting from and where you are ...
...main one. Living in Edinburgh Ryanair only flies there but Glasgow Prestwick has a lot of their further away flights. Once I booked I was offered travel insurance for £6 which is cheap so I booked that to. The only thing that wasn't amazing was the luggage weight but I suppose with this cheap a flight I couldn't complain it was 15kg a bag and 10kg for hand luggage. I luckily didn't go over or they would charge £5 per kilo. So, when it came to the ...

Fly it, you'll like it!

Advantages: Cheap price
Disadvantages: Heavy taxes on top of cheap price

My best friend from Australia was staying with me for a couple of weeks up until recently and while she was here I wanted us to get away for a couple of days. A short 2 day trip to Milan was what I had in mind and Ryan Air came up trumps. Just by chance the weekend I was looking at flights they had a special deal on with fares starting at just £6.99 each way! 24 hours later it was all booked. The flights were booked a month in advance - flying at ...
...well 3 flights came up for the specific day I wanted to leave the UK. Two were very early morning ones and one at 10pm. So – not the best times to be travelling but I was half expecting that. Also the price of £6.99 didn’t come up, but £8.99 did! That’s what the final cost was each way but by the time the tax was added on (£21.42 each) and then another surcharge for using my credit card (£4) it came to just over £41 each. However, we’re not going ...

It's Like Riding A Bus

Advantages: Essential for people on a budget
Disadvantages: Hidden charges; extortionate prices on the plane

...flight attendants standing around. Ryanair is a budget airline - remember that. The first thing I saw inside the plane were the rows of seats, which were arranged just like a bus - three seats on either side, with a narrow aisle between them! They looked and felt like bus seats too. I spent the entire flight fighting for leg room, of which there was hardly any - I'm 6'1 with legs slightly longer than my body. The good news is, provided you get ...
...aspartame :( ) on a Ryanair flight costs £1.40. - a bottle of water costs about the same. - a sandwich costs almost £4. - a mini Mars bar (two MINI Mars bars in one pack) would set you back £1.05. You'd find cheaper prices at a... an airport! That's right - you had better sneak something on board, if you don't want to be further out of pocket. You won't be able to survive a three hour flight without something to drink, believe me I've tried. ...

Ryanair.com the who cares airline

Advantages: Cheap fares sometimes.
Disadvantages: Attitude and information

...good price. I came across Ryanair and thought that these would be the ideal answer to my problems. However, my experiences have been very mixed to say the least. The Ryanair website itself is very well laid out, with lots of helpful information about the company, if that interests you. It also contains current flight information, as well as links for hotels and car-hire facilities, making it a good place to organise a holiday or weekend away. Booking ...
...simple. The baggage allowance on Ryanair is 15kg of luggage to be placed in the hold, as well as 5kg/7kg as hand luggage, depending on the size of aircraft. I must warn people though that the price for extra luggage is quite steep compared to other airlines at £4 per kg. This is all straight forward enough, however this is where problems can occur. Once you get through to departures you become aware that there are very few announcements regarding ...

...blossomed in recent years, but Ryanair is one of the oldest and one of the cheapest. Ryanair are based out of Stansted to the north east of London, but they have recently added another hub in Charleroi, near Brussels which has increased their routes particularly between continental destinations. ...at the lowest possible cost, Ryanair would almost invariably be my airline of choice. Ryanair have a website www.ryanair.com where you can book directly and they take credit and debit cards there. Ryanair

Advantages: Cheap, Staff, Clean
Disadvantages: /

...This was due to the Ryanair staff at the check in desk. They were extremely efficient and knew exactly what they were doing. This meant that everyones bags were checked in very quickly. When we got to the desk we had a warm greeting from the member of the Ryanair staff who was dealing with the procedure. And, once again she dealt with everything very quickly and easily without fault or error. Both the handles on our bag were broken, but she quickly ...
...Overall the members of the Ryanair staff that we dealt with at Luton airport were extremely helpful and were good representatives of their company. This inital encounter with the staff encouraged my views on the airline. I believe that it is very important for any airline to have polite and helpful staff as these are the "frontmen" of the company and that is how the customer will perceive them as a whole. The staff of the company certainly didn't ...

'A cheap hop over the North Sea with Ryanair'

Advantages: Very cheap flights to alternative destinations.
Disadvantages: You get what you pay for!

...History… An Irish airline, Ryanair is Europe's largest low-cost carrier founded in 1985 by businessman Tony Ryan. It currently operates a total of 300 low-fare routes between 130 airports in 20 European destinations and two in Morocco. I find it remarkable that what has evolved into the world's most profitable airline stemmed from a single 15-seater aircraft flying just one route. Indeed, after the introduction of a second aircraft in 1986, flying ...
...one year! Of course, Ryanair was forced to make major changes to create profitability after its establishment, notably employing Michael O'Leary as Chief Executive in 1991. He based Ryanair on the American Southwest Airlines low-cost model, providing 'no frills', low-cost travel using solely Boeing 737-800 series aircraft to cut costs. This included flying routes into smaller, more obscure airports, providing a flexible and reliable service. Ryanair ...

Ryanair all the way

Advantages: Cheap, good service
Disadvantages: Having to get to Luton airport

...our bus, there was a Ryanair man in the terminal to take us out to it and to help us load. Pity I didn't win the prize on the fundraising Lucky Scratch-n-Win ticket which Ryanair promotes to raise funds for children all over Uk and Europe! Luckily I was travelling with a girlfriend who travels light, because I do not! My suitcase contravened the 15kg limit by a kilogram or two!!! Because we were travelling together I was allowed some of her weight ...
...It may pay for prospective Ryanair travellers to be sure of their suitcase weight as many in the queues around us were a little frazzled to be paying extra holiday funds before they left the airport. On our second trip, we ventured to Barcelona, again with Ryanair and using their connections to cheap accommodation. On our way home to UK we encountered some impromptu airport concourse amusement. A group of young Brits had flown to Barcelona on another ...

Ryanair get you there

Advantages: very cheap if you time it right
Disadvantages: Not much baggage allowance

After reading the review about Ryanair by Cindy1 I thought I would add my comments to this subject. We travelled with Ryanair in 2003 and found the experience well worth trying. As with many things in lif, there were ups as well as downs (sorry about the pun there lol) to the experience but most were favourable We decided in November 2002 to travel over to Germany to visit my brother in law and his family. They live just outside Frankfurt so after ...

There are 5 pages to help you The third page is destinations. Going to this page shows you a map with the major airports that they deal with. You move the mouse to the airport you require and it shows you all the destinations from this airport. We found that Frankfurt ...

...of flights I've made with Ryanair in the last few years, so think I'm just about qualified to give my opinion on them. Background *********** Ryanair have been operating since 1985, and now fly 15 million passengers each year all over Europe. Ryan Air have amongst the cheapest Tickets and yet were one company to make a huge profit last year! How do they do it and what did I think of my Ryan Air experience? Well it all started in May this year when my friends and I noticed that GNER were doing a £10 rtn anywhere in the UK, so we were going to go visit some Uni friends who had moved to Ipswich. Travelling from Glasgow this was going to take us the whole DAY, also we had to go within the ...

We sell cheap flights we have to make money so we do it on sandwiches etc, of course customers ...
