They have now expanded their bases around the UK and you can get to destinations (mainly Dublin I have to say) from an airport fairly local to you. Stansted is still the main airport but there is a fair range of destinations to be chosen from this airport. Choose from airports in:

...before I have heard of Ryanair as have most people but I still hadn't flown with them yet. Easyjet are not as cheap as they used to be so I looked at Ryanair, I was booking my flight to Ireland and having checked out many airlines they definitely offered the best as my flight worked out as being somewhere around £25 which for a return to me is amazing. The website is very easy to use as you just click where you are starting from and where you are ... ...main one. Living in Edinburgh Ryanair only flies there but Glasgow Prestwick has a lot of their further away flights. Once I booked I was offered travel insurance for £6 which is cheap so I booked that to. The only thing that wasn't amazing was the luggage weight but I suppose with this cheap a flight I couldn't complain it was 15kg a bag and 10kg for hand luggage. I luckily didn't go over or they would charge £5 per kilo.

My best friend from Australia was staying with me for a couple of weeks up until recently and while she was here I wanted us to get away for a couple of days. A short 2 day trip to Milan was what I had in mind and Ryan Air came up trumps.
Just by chance the weekend I was looking at flights they had a special deal on with fares starting at just £6.99 each way! 24 hours later it was all booked. The flights were booked a month in advance - flying at ... ...well 3 flights came up for the specific day I wanted to leave the UK. Two were very early morning ones and one at 10pm. So – not the best times to be travelling but I was half expecting that. Also the price of £6.99 didn’t come up, but £8.99 did! That’s what the final cost was each way but by the time the tax was added on (£21.42 each) and then another surcharge for using my credit card (£4) it came to just over £41 each. Ryanair is a budget airline - remember that. The first thing I saw inside the plane were the rows of seats, which were arranged just like a bus - three seats on either side, with a narrow aisle between them! They looked and felt like bus seats too. I spent the entire flight fighting for leg room, of which there was hardly any - I'm 6'1 with legs slightly longer than my body.
The good news is, provided you get ... ...aspartame :( ) on a Ryanair flight costs £1.40.
- a bottle of water costs about the same.
- a sandwich costs almost £4.
- a mini Mars bar (two MINI Mars bars in one pack) would set you back £1.05.
You'd find cheaper prices at a... an airport!
That's right - you had better sneak something on board, if you don't want to be further out of pocket. You won't be able to survive a three hour flight without something to drink, believe me I've tried.

...good price. I came across Ryanair and thought that these would be the ideal answer to my problems. However, my experiences have been very mixed to say the least.
The Ryanair website itself is very well laid out, with lots of helpful information about the company, if that interests you. It also contains current flight information, as well as links for hotels and car-hire facilities, making it a good place to organise a holiday or weekend away. Booking ... ...simple. The baggage allowance on Ryanair is 15kg of luggage to be placed in the hold, as well as 5kg/7kg as hand luggage, depending on the size of aircraft. I must warn people though that the price for extra luggage is quite steep compared to other airlines at £4 per kg. This is all straight forward enough, however this is where problems can occur.

...blossomed in recent years, but Ryanair is one of the oldest and one of the cheapest. Ryanair are based out of Stansted to the north east of London, but they have recently added another hub in Charleroi, near Brussels which has increased their routes particularly between continental destinations. I've flown with Ryanair quite a few times, four times in the past year (8 if you include return trips) and that I have continued to use them, I think, indicates ... ...at the lowest possible cost, Ryanair would almost invariably be my airline of choice. Ryanair have a website www.ryanair.com where you can book directly and they take credit and debit cards there. The choices of routes are ultimately, what makes the decision for me however, and I'd have no hesitation in recommending them, indeed, I'm off on another flight next week (£20 (including taxes) to Pescara if you are interested!) ...

...This was due to the Ryanair staff at the check in desk. They were extremely efficient and knew exactly what they were doing. This meant that everyones bags were checked in very quickly. When we got to the desk we had a warm greeting from the member of the Ryanair staff who was dealing with the procedure. And, once again she dealt with everything very quickly and easily without fault or error. Both the handles on our bag were broken, but she quickly ... ...Overall the members of the Ryanair staff that we dealt with at Luton airport were extremely helpful and were good representatives of their company.
This inital encounter with the staff encouraged my views on the airline. I believe that it is very important for any airline to have polite and helpful staff as these are the "frontmen" of the company and that is how the customer will perceive them as a whole. Pity I didn't win the prize on the fundraising Lucky Scratch-n-Win ticket which Ryanair promotes to raise funds for children all over Uk and Europe!
Luckily I was travelling with a girlfriend who travels light, because I do not! My suitcase contravened the 15kg limit by a kilogram or two!!! Because we were travelling together I was allowed some of her weight ... ...It may pay for prospective Ryanair travellers to be sure of their suitcase weight as many in the queues around us were a little frazzled to be paying extra holiday funds before they left the airport.
On our second trip, we ventured to Barcelona, again with Ryanair and using their connections to cheap accommodation. On our way home to UK we encountered some impromptu airport concourse amusement.
