Advantages: Cheap Disadvantages: Non-existant customer service
I have flown with Ryanair probably 20 times over the last 5 years. About 4 times things have gone wrong. The problem is that they aren't interested at all when it does go wrong and it could end up costing you a lot extra.
The first time was when we arrived at Birmingham airport for a flight home to Dublin. There had been an accident at the airport that morning, but the website said to go to the airport as usual. When we arrived all flights out of ... ...we hadn't. I expect that Ryanair would have been their usual unhelpful selves. They completely igmored my letter of complaint.
Another time a flight was delayed by 12 hours. We were stuck at the airport with no money and Ryanir didn't even give anyone food or drinks, never mind anywhere to stay for the night. It was very uncomfortable.
The final time that they have annoyed me was recently. It was kind of my fault but nontheless illustrates their ...

...year,and booked my flights with ryanair through their online booking service.
After checking every airport within travelling distance of my house i picked John Lennon International Airport as it was supposed to be 1 penny each way, but after the online fee, credit card fee and airport taxes the sum total was just short of £100.
But i travel with ryanair on a regular basis soo i'm pretty used to this, The flight over was pretty uneventfull nice information ... ...unhappy i went to the ryanair desk in shannon airport and all i got was i'm sorry nothing i can do.as she was leaving to go for lunch she said i'll be back in an hour if you have time to wait!!!
And it didn't stop there on my return flight from ireland back to the u.k i boarded the flight 1st as i allways try to do being over 6feet tall there just isn't enough room in the main cabin soo i try to get a row 1 seat as there is plenty of leg room. but ...

Advantages: cheap Disadvantages: i've heard a few horror stories
...The best thing about Ryanair is obviously the price. If you keep an eye on the website for offers you can save hundreds of pounds compared to British Airways. I just booked a return ticket from Dublin to Prestwick for £25, including tax. I don't think that's too bad. It's half the price of taking the coach and ferry. At the moment, they're doing single fares for £1 before tax. They fly to more and more European destinations - just check the website. ... ...I thought of a criticism- they could fly from more airports in the UK - like Edinburgh or Newcastle. It'd be good to have a connection from the North-East to Shannon. But I'm sure that has something to do with why they're so cheap, and I'd hate for that to change! The staff are every bit as friendly as on British Airways - they don't seem more stressed or anything. The planes seem clean and they may not be the latest models, but I'd be nervous travelling ...

Advantages: Ease of booking, cheap and comfortable. Disadvantages: Food is expensive on flight.
...surprised. Booking with Ryanair was very easy - just pick up the phone - and I had my flight booked in a flash and cheaply too - I am under 26 and have a student travel card to use on the railways which gives me a discount of 1/3 on tickets - yet the flight was £10 cheaper (and I was booking only 4 days before my departure date). I was given a reference number and told to take photo ID with me to Prestwick - Ryanair do not issue tickets.
Ryanair ... ...to collect my bags at Stansted (or Prestwick on the way back) and in both cases I was sitting on a train within 20 mins of landing. Overall a very pleasant experience - I would certainly use Ryanair again - the train companies have lost another customer! ...

Ryanair is OK. It is cheap. It is efficient (usually), but watch out for the hard sell. Like many cut price transport companies, Ryanair likes to bombard you with sales pitches as soon as you are strapped in. It could be food, drink (coffee is stunningly bad and stunningly expensive), it could be stuff from the catalogue. Adverts adverts adverts. It very nearly got to be annoying. Give us a break guys, we just wanna get there safe and cheap, OK.

Advantages: cheap Disadvantages: bad service, no seat allocation, over-priced food
After flying Ryan Air I was impressed with only one thing, the price. But as the market is now flooded with low-cost airlines they had better watch their service. The idea of a ticketless airline is fine and easy and will definately one day be the norm for all airlines, however the non-allocation of seating is a nightmare. All this results in is a mad scramble of people pushing and shoving upon boarding as they all vie for their preferred seating. ... ...this procedure I would be most hapy to hear, surely the administration of seat allocaiton would far outweigh the inconvenience to all passengers concerned.
Understandably there was no complimentary snakcs or dirnks available on board. After purchasing a bacon, lettuce and tomato roll at the extortionate price of £5.00 I was faced with something completely inedible and that was obviously well travelled. There is no excuse for this type of rip-off, ...
Advantages: Cheap, odd airports may suit Disadvantages: Airports often in the middle of nowhere
...it is cheap.
But Ryanair additionally use weird and wonderful airports. For example fly to Stockholm and you'll end up at Nykoping - miles from Stockholm. Or fly to Verona and end up at Brescia. Now there may be nothing wrong with this (I wanted to go to Nykoping for example), and they do sometimes provide bus links into the cities (at extra cost). But you need to book a flight fully aware of this. The transfers can add a lot of time to the journey. ...
I have used ryanair a couple of times in recent weeks. Some good and bad points you might like to consider:
The Web Site is good and easy to use. Watch out for a trick though... if you are buying more than one ticket, try and buy them one at a time. I bought two to Pisa and saved £100; if you enter a quantity of '2' straight away it ignores any single, lower priced tickets.
Prices are hard to beat; always look though to save money if you have a ... ...of tickets, one inbound and one outbound with a good intreval - at least a few days and a Saturday night - in between. Not sure if it is legal but it saves you quite a bit of money in some cases.
Watch out for the catches though. The stampede to get seats on the plane is frightening - we had a small baby and were nearly squished - and there is limted customer service!
BIG WARNING - we landed late at Stansted on the return and there was an almighty ...

Advantages: Cheap fares if you can find them Disadvantages: Prices quoted without tax - airports miles from anywhere
Ryanair will fly you to Stockholm and all sorts of other exotic places for £9 return, so they say, but as the first website booking page tells you, the prices do not include tax, neither do they tell you on the initial page how much the tax is, nor on which dates the £9 fare applies. I found that repeated attempts to guess which dates could be booked for £9 plus tax provided only fares vastly higher than that figure, so I gave up and went with another ... ...is that several of its airports are so far from the cities advertised that you will be on a coach for a long time after you land. This is why they were recently forced to put the name of the airport in brackets after the city in their advertisements. No, I think I’ll stick to Easyjet and Go, where there’s just a little less deception. ...
Advantages: Cheap, cheerful, caring and easy to use Disadvantages: No frills
I have booked with this airline on three occasions now - not for myself, but for my mother who is 77 years old. Like everyone else, I was a little cautious at first - after all, the old saying 'You get what you pay for' is always in the back of your mind.
I am very pleased to say that in this case, you get exactly that. No frills (but who wants a meal on a flight lasting little more than an hour), certain restrictions such as a slightly lower baggage ... ...once booked. These may be regarded as negatives, but a good travel insurance policy will cover the cost of emergency alterations anyway.
What you do get is flights from probably the most pleasant British airport - Stanstead - with a company where people actually seem to matter at a price that can be up to 75% LESS than the big names.
The company's on-line booking service is also simple and straightforward.
I would recommend them to anyone. ...
I have flown with Ryanair twice. On both occassions the journey has been from Manchester to Dublin (return). Equally, on both occassions I have booked my tickets on-line at the Ryaniar.com website. The last time I booked, the ticket only cost £3 (£19 with taxes and other charges). I paid with my debit card and recieved my tickets promptly. I have no reservations concerning Ryanair's website to make on-line bookings and I would use them again. However, ... ...sure that it is not specific to Ryanair. Compared to airlines like British Airways, the journey is extremely basic but for a ticket that is at least a fifth of the price I think this discomfort is worth tolerating for a short journey. Please note, despite having to place an opinion on food, there is none served on Ryanair. ...
Advantages: cheap, if your flight is not cancelled Disadvantages: cancellation, no customers service, no help at all
Flight from Milan Bergamo to Paris Beauvais. First, my flight has been cancelled when I was about to board! After 2 hours, without any explanation, excuse or compassion, I get another plane two day after….My family and I had to pay a hotel located in an industrial area (very nice view thank you Ryanair) near the airport. We had nothing to do in this ugly district and our kids got crazy there! Tow day later, we went to the airport to get our plane, ... ...a new cancellation, and it was our plane! I get completely crazy, so after hour talking with the worst ever incompetent crew I ever met, I decided to rent a car (500€) to get back home… I send many letters and phoned their customers service but it seems to be the same joke every time they ask me the same things… I’ll never fly again this company, my wife and my kids too! please avoid them! in the memory of my bad experience! ...
Advantages: Cheap and local Disadvantages: First come, First served.
...in Spain and Italy using Ryanair and accommodation booked on the internet direct with the owner.
With Ryanair it is best to book your flight as early as you can as these are usually the cheapest tickets - prices go up as the plane fills up. No last minute deals then, but with fares as low as 99p ( not including taxes and surcharges of course + the new charge for luggage) who needs them. We pay on average £120 for 3 return tickets - no child prices ... ...tow comes into its own. Ryanair have a policy of boarding families with children and the elderly or disabled first, bypassing the numbered ticket system. There is always some confusion at the departure gate as people hustle for position, but we have not really had any trouble with this after all if you travel on the cheap you cannot expect VIP treatment.
On board the planes are basic, but sufficient for the relatively short trips to Europe. There ...

Advantages: Cheap flights Disadvantages: Frequent cancellations and delays, pay for drinks, out of the way airports
...sum up my thoughts on Ryanair in a simple sentence: you get what you pay for. In the case of Ryanair, you don't pay a lot and you similarly don't get a lot. Expect to pay for drinks on the plain. 50p for a mini sized coke. £1.00 for a orange and lemonade. Avoid mini sized alcoholic beverages. The air hostess will cunningly ask you what you would like to drink. You'll get excited and think you're on a 'real' airplane, she'll crack open the drink, ... ...had to stay overnight and Ryanair refused to put them up in a hotel or pay for any of their inconvenience.
And so it goes. I certainly believe that regardless of the cost of a flight, customer service does not have to go out the window. Unfortunately in Ryanair's case, it does. However, if you are seeking a cheap flight without perks and know what to expect and what not to expect, Ryanair is your man. ...

...- 4 pounds return ticket.
Ryanair are doing a fantastic job to keep air travel in Europe as cheap as possible. So what, if there are no frills? Does it really matter, when most flights are less than 2 hours duration? I would rather have a ticket as cheap as these and pay for a drink on board. If I am travelling in a group, I know that I can survive seperation from my friends for 2 hours or so.
I and my family travel regularly between Stansted and ... ...can't sing the praises of Ryanair loud enough. So where is my gripe? It is at STANSTED. Stansted ruins the efforts of the airline and all its destination airports.
I and my wife recently bought tickets HAHN - STANSTED - HAHN.
Tickets for two passengers ..... 22 Deutsch. Mark
Airport Taxes - Hahn............ 35 Deutsch. Mark AIRPORT TAXES - STANSTED........ 90 Deutsch. Mark (Round Figures)
Can somebody please tell me why the taxes at Stansted ...
