This year I have started flying SAS twice a month between Heathrow and Stockholm Arlanda (ARN in airline parlance). I sent 4 years doing the same with BA but changed allegence due to the SAS frequent flyer arrangement being better for me. I flew to Ostersund via Stockholm from Heathrow at the end of January 2003. I was part of a group of 17 people, seven of which were wheelchair users. We found the check-in staff very efficient at getting us through to the boarding area. Flight canceled due to technical trouble and had to return to gate. Only B-class passengers were helped quickly while 200 others had to return to check in counter. Only two agents on duty. My wife calculated it would take about nine hours to process all 200. Passengers were told that the Airbus A330-300 had to get parts flown in from Copenhagen and thus could not leave until next day. I used SAS for a roundtrip Seattle-Berlin via Kopenhagen. I chose SAS because it offered one of the shortest flight-times as well as one of the lowest airfares available (Spring 2000). I was very happy with the airlines. I didn’t have to bother with my luggage in Kopenhagen, but could simply check it in once and then pick it up at my destination airport. The flight personnel was friendly and a lot was offered to keep the passengers busy and entertained. ...

I remember when I used another airline on the same route there wasn’t any alcohol that came with dinner, let alone cognac after dinner, and drinks whenever one felt like having one. If travelling to Tokyo I would recommend travelling SAS airlines. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful during the long flight, making it a much more enjoyable experience. The onboard entertainment system was a life saver as I find it very hard to sleep on a plane. I enjoyed 3 current films on my way home including Calender Girls and Along came Polly.
