SeaFrance Ferries

I've been on Sea France ferries a few times now, and, lucky for me, its service is always consistent. Last weekend, me and my partner decided to go on an impulsive day trip to France, so late Saturday night, we booked returned ferry tickets to Calais from Dover. This was the way we chose to travel to France we were going in holiday. We have travelled with Sea France previously and they keep sending us these cheap offers. We Booked our sailing about 4 months ago, we then realised we needed to change the date we sailed 3 weeks before we were due to go, so we phoned and changed departure dates easy no problems. ...from the MD's secretary at SeaFrance giving her sincere regret at the service we got whilst on board. She has sent both of my letters to the head purser (??) at SeaFrance who apparently deals with all complaints and inccidents on board any of the SeaFrance boats. She has also offered a discount of 50% of any booking made by me or my family on a SeaFrance ferry that will include entry to the VIP lounge and free meals!!! Sounds like a success to me!! ...

In my lifetime, I have been on about 30 ferries I think. Various trips to the Continent and Ireland have taken me on loads of different companies and types of boat but none can rival the SeaCat out of Newhaven, Sussex. In 1987 I went to Spain with the school on a trip and we had to go by coach. We went from Newhaven to Dieppe which took about 4 hours on the boat. Newhaven was at the time a busy port but not to the same extent as the more often used ...

First of all, they never refused my French car: a lot of people are using the day trip fares to go to France instead of paying the 5-days return ticket which is a lot more money. This illegal way of travelling is punished by any terms & conditions and ferries companies can take the money from from credit card if they notice a fraud. I booked an early ferry (04:30hrs) in feb 2008 from Dover to Calais to go to Czech Republic. And when I reached the check-in office they said the ferry is cancelled and the next one is at 05:45hrs. I was with my baby and family intending to drive for 15hrs and without a prior notice the ferry is cancelled.
