My Favourite Department Store In The UK

Advantages: Large, spacious, choice, service, location, value during the sales, find things you are unlikely to find on the High Street.
Disadvantages: Odour of the food hall, one might get lost, sometimes it is expensive, sometimes it is better to shop on Bond Street shop by shop.

...with Harrods and Harvey Nicols, Selfridges is one of London’s most famous department stores. There is also a branch in Manchester which I have never been to. “Location” It’s located on Oxford Street closer to the Marble Arch side, with Bond Street the nearest tube station. Personally, being in the Oxford Street area is more convenient for me than the Knightsbridge area of the other two shops that I mentioned. There is also ...
...the chance. “Floor Guide” Selfridges (& Co) as I said, is a very large store probably about the size of a football pitch and a little spanning 4 floors and a small 5th floor. There are countless entrances and the store is set out in a way where’s it’s fairly difficult to get lost, and with three sets of escalators and lifts it’s quite n easy shopping experience. Toilets are aplenty, but fairly difficult to find. B ...

when I die, heaven will be like Selfridges

Advantages: everything you want (and can't afford) under one roof
Disadvantages: never enough time or money to enjoy it properly

...Marble Arch. You can't miss Selfridges itself. To quote someone I once knew "it's the huge-ass expensive looking shop which says 'selfridges and co' on the door". Once you've made your way past the people collecting for charity and used all your upper body strength on the big revolving doors to actually get into the shop, it's time to die, because you will have already mentally spent about 5 grand. The ground floor is home to everything but clothes. ...
...people who've quaffed champagne in selfridges (very nice, if very expensive) but Spirit is my spiritual home. Lower floors aren't my forte, but I have it on good authority that, like the rest of selfridges, it's hell on your credit card and your self-discipline. One of the things I like about Selfidges is the slightly less pretentious attitude, and the fact there are fewer tourists. Selfridges is where the locals go, as well as the visitors. The ...

A great store

Advantages: Goods ranges and quality
Disadvantages: can get crowded

I first went to Selfridges to look at their wonderful Christmas displays but was soon drawn though the door. It's a retail experience to be enjoyed and I doubt that you would come away emptyhanded. Departments are well signposted and the goods and displayed well. Although it can get crowded, I has always found queues are not too bad and the service polite and quick. The quality of goods for sale is excellant and of course the range is far reaching, ...

Everything You Need

Advantages: They have a huge range of quality shops, lovely building, right for the whole family.
Disadvantages: none

...brilliant shops available. For example selfridges & co. This huge department store offers the most choices in shops, whether it is for household care, to baby wear! At night the lights offer a fabulous attraction, and it is a must-go store for shop-acholics! They also have personal shopping for those who don't like to wander round the store, of course for an extra charge though. Selfridges is located in one of the busiest streets in london, Oxford ...

Yo! Raw Fish!

Advantages: Good food, fast (and on a conveyor belt)
Disadvantages: Well, its raw fish, innit (not as bad as you might think)

Nestling in one corner of Selfridges' impressive food hall (far better than Harrods) is perhaps the best place in London to see mad Japanese men prepare raw fish. Yo Sushi! is quite unique in this country (yes, part of a c hain, but the chain itself is unique). OK, lots of other people flog raw fish. Some of them even expect you to eat it. But at Yo Sushi! it flies to your table on a conveyor belt. A veritable Generation Game full of goodies ...

Yes they do sell fridges too

Advantages: Centre London and thus easy access
Disadvantages: can get very crowded

Selfridges is located in the heart of London along the ever busy Oxford Street. They sell practically everything you could ever want here and the prices aren't particularly extortionate. The service is also good as the members of staff are always on hand to help you out and they are also very polite, it was only the other day when i went and seeing i had a lot to carry a helpful member of staff rushed to the door and even offered to help me hail ...
...a crowd. Anyway back to the shop itself. Selfridges is fun and fresh and you know if you are looking for something they are sure to have it here. One could spend hours merely roaming around aimlessly lost in a maze of products. No wonder the place is always busy! ...

...to get carried away. Selfridges really does cater for all, mums, dads and the kids. Selfridges can be found on Oxford Street - closest tube is Marble Arch on the Central Line. and is a stones throw from Hyde Park - perfect for leaving hubby and the kids when they do eventually get bored. Be wary though, once you enter, you'll find it hard to leave!! ...

Selfridges is a place to find something special

Advantages: Inspiring and unusual products
Disadvantages: A bit crowded at times

I enjoy shopping at Selfridges for many reasons. If I need to find a high quality product or wish to discover an alternative or find inspiration, I come here. I find the staff helpful and polite, but in some of the concessions in the interiors department, I've found the quality of service at times lacking and a little uninterested - maybe that's been bad luck and the exception. I appreciate the high standards of presentation in the store, and the ...

Shop 2 u drop

Advantages: all in 1 roof
Disadvantages: a bit pricy

...right time shopping. I find Selfridges very useful because I have everything in one roof but it can get confusing if you don’t know what you want. What I recommend always is to be able to buy what you are looking for, no point just looking. When you decide what you want find the right floor and keep to what you were looking for. It’s very easy to loose tracks and find your self in the lady’s section when you wanted a pair of socks. If you decide ...
