...an 11 night stay in Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt. Where is Sharm El Sheikh?
Sharm el-Sheikh is probably one of the most popular places for people to visit in Egypt and it is certainly the most developed tourist resort. It is situated on the Sinai Peninsula.
How Long Does It Take To Get To Sharm?
The flight to Sharm takes just over 5 hours from any of the London Airports which isn’t too bad.

Our holiday cost us £575 per person for 11 nights at the Hilton Sharks Bay hotel staying on an all inclusive basis. Considering that we were all inclusive so in theory you have no need to spend any money once you are there, I thought the price was very reasonable.
Weather In Sharm

This review is actually of Naama Bay the area itself and what it has to offer. I must quantify this by stating that the diving/snorkelling is my own personal experience. Personally I could never just go and lie on a beach for more than an hour or two (and 2 hours would need a very very good book!). Sharm el Shiekh is placed very close to the peninsula of an area called Sinai in Egypt but is actually a triangular strip of desert between the mainland Egypt and Israel/Jordan and Saudi Arabia (see map below). It is on the coast of the Red Sea.
Sharm el shiekh old town is actually on a cliff top, the main beach area here is Naama Bay which is at cliff base level and slightly further up the coast. There is a ...

Our hotel was called the Conrad Sharm El Sheik and was situated just a fifteen minute drive from the airport and a 30 minute drive from Naama Bay. Our hotel was absolutely beautiful. ...a week's holiday to Egypt, Sharm el Sheikh, Naama Bay to be precise. So last September we made our way to Egypt, the flight was 5 hours and 20 minutes (ish) and it was hot, we had landed in the evening and although it was dark it was like stepping in to a sauna (lovely). Once we were all checked in and settled in to our room, we went to have a wander. We stayed right in the middle of town (at the New Tiran Hotel - review coming shortly). Sharm el Sheikh is made up of three bays (quite confusing) as no-one really tells you this and when I originally started looking for package deals and hotels I didn't know where they were, everything just says Sharm el Sheikh (very annoying) so I made sure I asked which bay each and every hotel was in. Naama Bay is the biggest bay and full of tourists, restaurants, locals, shops, bars, excursion places, dive shops and taxi's, plenty ...

I travelled to Sharm El Sheikh at the beginning of June with my girlfriend and our cliché ‘sun, sea and sand’ ideals. We arrived around 8pm to find it was still lovely and hot, and by the time we arrived at our hotel around 9pm it was still 32 degrees, and we were informed that it had reached 46 degrees during the day. Wow. Then came the guidelines that made this heat less than ideal: • Do no drink the water. It is taken directly from the Red ... ...I would probably still recommend Sharm El Sheikh for a holiday. You may not get ill and you may be much more acclimatised to the heat that punished me. And apparently the diving facilities are some of the best in the world. If just for that reason alone Egypt will always attract tourism for a long time to come.
Would I go back there? Maybe not next year ...

Sharm el Sheikh, located at the tip of the Sinai Peninsula, is known as the Red Sea Riviera of Egypt.
Most of the hotels in Sharm El Sheik are five star resorts.
Nearly all the hotels provide sports, beaches, excursions, activities, shopping, attractions and nightlife. Many of the hotels are situated on the beaches so you won't have far to walk to the sea.

Sharm El Sheikh is considered to be the wealthy part of Egypt due to the fact that it is the only part which has been specifically developed as a holiday resort and is the best place for locals to earn a living.
