Myself and my boyfriend have just returned from an 11 night stay in Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt. Where is Sharm El Sheikh? Sharm el-Sheikh is probably one of the most popular places for people to visit in Egypt and it is certainly the most developed tourist resort. It is situated on the Sinai Peninsula. How Long Does It Take To Get To Sharm? The flight to Sharm takes just over 5 hours from any of the London Airports which isn’t too bad. Sharm Airport We were told before we went on holiday that Sharm airport is really manic but we didn’t find that at all, this could be due to that fact that they ... more

I have recently returned from Naama Bay in Sharm el Shiekh which could possibly be the best value dive resort in the world. This review is actually of Naama Bay the area itself and what it has to offer. I must quantify this by stating that the diving/snorkelling is my own personal experience. Personally I could never just go and lie on a beach for more than an hour or two (and 2 hours would need a very very good book!). The 'bucket and spade brigade' info is feedback from friends I have recommended this resort to. I have been there 13 times and plan to continue going back. I know, there are ... more

Me and my partner stayed in a hotel called the Conrad Sharm El Sheik in Egypt for a week from Monday 12th of June to the 19th of June. We had the most amazing holiday and I hope you enjoy reading my review of what I consider one of the most beautiful places I have ever visited in my life. I will start by reviewing the actual travel agents, etc then go on to the beautiful Sharm! Who did you book with? We booked with a well known travel Agent called First Choice. How much did it cost and what did it include? The total cost of the holiday for both of us came to 1058. This was for a week's stay in ... more

Me and my partner just returned from a 8 days holiday in Sharm el Sheikh (Naama Bay). It was a wonderful experience - please read our review. ********** BOOKING ********** We booked via lastminute.com just 4 days before we went there - at £ 179 per person for 7 nights a real bargain. Included were: - flight with Astraeus (charter airline) from and to Gatwick - 7 nights accommodation incl. breakfast in the Ocean Bay Hotel - transfer from and to the airport in Sharm el Sheikh Travel insurance is included in our bank account arrangements, so we didn't need to buy. If you intend to go diving a lot ... more

We found ourselves amongst a psyched up mob at the boarding gates of London Luton airport, waiting to board the 6-seater/unlimited-standing bus and watching our fellow travellers exhibiting all the tactical posturing rituals that are now employed when you are in the final moments before the every-man-woman-pensioner-corpse-and-child-for-the mselves scramble across the Tarmac and up the staircase and into the seats of the inevitable Easyjet flight. The usual silent inner-monologue-bickering simmered but never boiled, and everyone took their seats, safe in the knowledge that this is an Easyjet ... more

Egypt, where to start. I have wanted to visit Egypt for many years now, and I finally won the battle with my boyfriend last year and we went on a week's holiday to Egypt, Sharm el Sheikh, Naama Bay to be precise. So last September we made our way to Egypt, the flight was 5 hours and 20 minutes (ish) and it was hot, we had landed in the evening and although it was dark it was like stepping in to a sauna (lovely). Once we were all checked in and settled in to our room, we went to have a wander. We stayed right in the middle of town (at the New Tiran Hotel - review coming shortly). I had been ... more

“Egypt offers you the greatest gift of all, the sun.” Well, hot diggity they are not wrong there! Watching those beautiful adverts prior to booking my holiday I was successfully seduced. Lying on a beach of serenity for hours, playing football in nothing more than Speedos and dancing the night away, with just dotted palm trees for shade. Paradise? No. I feel myself building up a sweat just watching those advertisements now! I travelled to Sharm El Sheikh at the beginning of June with my girlfriend and our cliché ‘sun, sea and sand’ ideals. We arrived around 8pm to find it was still lovely and ... more

On Thursday May 26th 2005, myself, my mum, my dad and my brother went on a family holiday to Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt. It was the first time we had been abroad for 4 years, the first time we had been on a plane for 4 years, the first time we had been to Africa - ever. All my life I had dreamed of going to Egypt, mainly Cairo to see the Pyramids, as I had always wanted to become an archaeologist. I collected souveneirs from Museums and shops relating to Ancient Egypt, an amazing period in the worlds history filled with grand designs, architecture and beliefs. I collected a childrens magazine on ... more

Sharm el Sheikh is the most popular upcoming resort in Egypt. Me and my boyfriend decided to go here last year for our summer holiday, as after trawling through all the holiday site, thomas cook, first choice etc, Egypt kep coming up the best value for money over places like the canaries, so we thought we would give it a go! Ive never really been interested in going to Egypt, i thought it was all pyramids and historical stuff, until my mum went there and absolutely loved it! I didnt realise it was a place you could just go to lay on a nice sandy beach, eat all you want and just relax, just ... more

Advantages Advantages great weather for just a 5 1/2 hour flight, value for money

    Disadvantages Disadvantages hassle from shopkeepers

I was lucky enough to visit Sharm for free in March this year - one of the perks of being a travel agent is we occasionally get 'fam trips' which means we are taken to a destination and shown around numerous hotels and the sights so that we are able to sell it confidently when back home. These trips are really beneficial, and I think I certainly appreciate them more now I am self employed. So there was a group of about 10 of us and we visited about 6 hotels each day getting the full tour, camera and notebook in hand. I must admit the company we went with - Med Hotels - had a lot of clout in ... more
