Advantages: no enclosures around animals, feel much closer to animals Disadvantages: a long and tiring day
Singapore Zoo is by far the best zoo/wildlife reserve that I have ever been to - and I've been to a lot in many different countries! There's no cages around any of the animals so everything is free and it's great not to have fences between you and them. The white Bengal tigers are the most amazing - there's just a moat and a vertical hill in between you and I got some great pictures of them being fed and playing in the water without the annoying ... ...as you walk past and there's other animals like huge lizards and big birds just walking past you on the path. There's an Australia section which Steve Urwin helped to create where kangaroos jump across your path. The hippos and polar bears are also amazing as you can see them swimming underwater. There's shows and talks on throughout the day and a big stadium where you can watch the elephants doing tricks. There's also a train that takes you around ...

Advantages: welcoming, diverse and very family friendly Disadvantages: little escape from the heat, pricy for whole family
We've been several times and never tire of the attraction. there is so much to see and so many interactive moments that there is always something new to see. Everyone else we have taken has also loved it. Unlike most zoos this one seems very animal friendly and natural. The animals are not kept in cages but wherever possible natural barriers (like moats) are used to keep visitors safe and animals happy. It is very much a learning environment as well ... ...habitats and breeding programmes run by the zoo
Monkeys roam free and the keepers walk about with certain animals (e.g cubs) letting visitors play with them and ask questions. My own personal favourites are the white tigers and the bird shows. THe walk in enclosures are great for showing animals in their natural habitat and can't be beaten for awe and beauty.
