Advantages Advantages Some great music and a lively atmosphere

Disadvantages Disadvantages Ignorant door staff, the toilets!

A typical Monday morning. Got up late, felt very tired, having no idea why, although it might have had something to do with the late nights of the previous weekend. A bit fed up. A general feeling of apathy. You know how it is, so what better thing to do than write an opinion? Scraping the barrel I know, maybe you lot all lead more interesting lives than me hehe but as I was looking round Ciao to find something inspirational to write about (well more so than soap anyway!) I discovered Snobs nightclub. As soon as I saw this category on offer, I knew that I'd just have to write an op about it ... more

Advantages Advantages Great music, ladies, cheap drinks, good time

    Disadvantages Disadvantages The next morning!

I look forward every week to my Wednesday's out at Snobs. It's student night and the drinks are ridiculously cheap at 50p a shot of vodka/whiskey and £1 a pint of lager/Worthington's. Need I say more? I will anyway. In Snobs, all you get is a great time. Everyone in there is out for a laugh and although there is some moshing, none of it is serious. Some people say that Broad Street is fantastic, but I disagree. I think that it is pretentious and overrated as well as overpriced. At an average of £2.60 a pint, I'd rather be in Snobs. The music is the main benefit of Snobs. As a MUSIC lover ... more

Advantages Advantages Music, Cheap drinks, cool people

    Disadvantages Disadvantages toilets!

I have to say snobs is one of my favourite place to go in birmingham, although everyone will say how good broad street is, frankly most of the time i cant see the appeal. snobs however is different, ok im not gonna try and convince u that it is the cleanest, well decorated,'snobby' club, because, well quite frankly it just isnt, complete opposite actually, but u dont go out there to look at the decor do u?! no the appeal is the fact that u can wear what u like, drink for real cheap and have a wicked night with good music (which makes a change from the stuff u have to listen to up broad street) ... more

Advantages Advantages Cheap drinks, guaranteed to get completely wrecked

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Can get rough

Although Snobs can get a little rough it can be a great night out if you get drunk enough not to mind all the moshing. Wednesday nights are a must with shots costing only 50p - a complete bargain, and a guarantee that you will be staggering home at 2am in the morning when you get chucked out!!! With no need to dress up and impress Snobs is the ultimate in a no fuss but very drunk night out. Highly recomended for students due to the cheap drinks and load music. Just be sure to get off the dancefloor when things like Nirvana or Limp Biskit come on or you will be crushed!!!! ... more

    Advantages Advantages Good night out

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None really

I do not live in Birmingham, but my sister does. Everytime I go to stay with her, she has to take me to work with her- to Snobs. You can find Snobs on the corner of Paradise Circus. There is no dress code to snobs, so you can go in your scruffy comfy garb! The music they play is wonderful! From Chemical Brothers to Frank Sinatra. This club doesn't play too much of the modern stuff, and is more of a retro place to go. It doesn't cost a great deal to go in, and if you join their internet mailing list, you can sometimes get in free! I think it is £3.50 but I never had to pay to go so I'm not ... more

    Advantages Advantages Range of music

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Bit stuffy

The word club is more often associated these days with the world of dance music, hardcore trance and garage music. Luckily, this club has none of these things, and focuses more on the more tuneful melodies of indie, rock, soul and disco. Located on Paradise Circus, the entire club is underground, or at least below street level. The club is split into two rooms - imaginatively named the large room and the small room (for obvious reasons) - which alternate between having indie and rock, and soul and disco. Other than the stairs, a small corridor connects the two rooms, which makes it easy to ... more

Advantages Advantages Cheap. cheap, and Stella!!!!!!!!!!

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Too small!

The only thing thats good about Snobs is that they serve Stella Artois!. The music is only good if you like retro and indie!. Entry on Friday evening's is £3.50 with Nus and £4 without!. It's also good if you have nothing to do on Wednesday as it's cheap!. Go for it if you are a poor student with nothing else to do with your lives!. The other good reason to go to Snobs is the location!. It is just off Broad Street so if you can't get into anywhere on Broad Street, you will always get into Snobs!. Also, if you don't like Snobs there are always other places to go to!. Night buses come regularly ... more

    Advantages Advantages Easy to pull

Disadvantages Disadvantages Big bad lads out for beatings!

Before you read any further, all I can say is don't bother going! The place is a dive if ever there was one. I've been only once on a saturday night, but that was enough for me! Drinks are cheap, but the place is rough with a lot of rowdy blokes basically out for a fight with everyone and anyone they can find. It can be quite intimidating, and as for the women, well if you are into easy slappers then they'll be up for it if you are! (actually I suppose that's an attraction). The music's nothing to speak of with a mix of Indie, Hip-hop, et al, but nobody goes there for musical stimulation. Some ... more

    Advantages Advantages good music

    Disadvantages Disadvantages none really

Snobs is my favourite club in Birmingham by quite a long shot. It might not be as glamourous as other clubs such as Stoodi Bakers or God's Kitchen but the music and the atmosphere more than makes up for it. They play anything really from Rage Against The Machine to the Beastie Boys and if you go on a Wednesday night, you wont be able to resist the call of the moshpit. Watch out though, it can get a bit violent at times and it has been known for people to be thrown out :-) Drinks are dirt cheap on Wednesday's, the best offer being 6 shots of vodka and a redbull for £5. A couple of those will ... more

Advantages Advantages Cheap entry, excellent atmosphere and music!

Disadvantages Disadvantages Queues and crowds for peoplephobic people!

I've noticed the reviews for snobs are a bit old - so here's a bit of an update for 2008!! Snobs is a brilliant nightclub for indie and rock lovers, it is an extremely student friendly place. Going on wednesdays night - advertised as student nights i found a huge queue of people putside, which is a bit daunting but the wait isn't as long as expected and its worth it once you get inside! Entry on wednesday night before 11pm with NUS is £3, and after with or without its £4 so its cheap either way. As soon as you enter the club you realise how densely packed it is even with two spacious rooms ... more
