Let Your Spirit Soar.

Advantages: Something for everyone, breathe-taking scenery, good food.
Disadvantages: Rain.

...Wales and in particular the Snowdonia National park, which totals 823 square miles of the wildest land you will see anyway in the world. A mere 26,000 people live and work in this area of unspoilt beauty some making a bare living from the land others practising crafts handed down through generations. Millions of people visit North Wales every year but the National park stays unchanged by time. Looking at the geology its hard to imagine the sheer ...
...Silurian ages spanning over 400 million years, it makes a person feel like a tiny speck in time. The last Ice age lingered a long while here which still shows in the rocks and crags abundant throughout the land and the formation of rocky gorges through which waterfalls abound. Snowden or Yr Wydffa is the highest mountain at 3,560 feet above sea level, second highest to Ben Nevis in the UK. Not far from here are the three peaks Yr Tryfan, Glyder Fawr ...

A beautiful place to be!

Advantages: Scenery, plenty to see and do
Disadvantages: The weather might put some off

...of the world. The Snowdonia National Park stretches from Llandudno in the north to Machynlleth in the south and from the west coast of Wales inland as far as Bala. I don't intend to go into minute detail in this review but rather to give you a flavour for the area and its attractions. Where I have written a separate review on a particular subject I will put (R) for your information. I am not touting for reads but if there is something that you ...
...of the mountains for which Snowdonia is famous. The highest of these mountains is of course Mount Snowdon which gives the park its name. Snowdon is the highest mountain in Wales and the second highest in Great Britain and you can reach the top by climbing up one of the many marked paths or by travelling on the Snowdon Mountain Railway (R) - an amazing ride! By next year the new café at the top of the mountain will be open too. The town at the foot ...

The Park covers a vast area of 838 square miles, which incorporates two different Mountain ranges, the Carneddau, and Glyderau Mountain ranges. How to have fun in the rain

Advantages: Cheap, beautiful, active
Disadvantages: It might be wet in May

...(last year) holiday in the Snowdonia national park turned out to be one of the best we've ever had. The other half and I were both still students, stressed out before finals and in need of a budget getaway before plunging in to the depths of revision in May. After a little bit of research on the internet to look for campsites, we piled our gear into the back of our A reg VW and headed for the hills of Wales. The first campsite we stayed at, in Waunfawr, ...
...After a week in Snowdonia we got back in the car and headed for Anglesey. The whole week cost us about £50 each, including food and petrol. We mostly took packed lunches as we were on a budget, but there are masses of places to eat and drink. In May all the attractions and campsites are quiet (some are cheaper), and it is entirely possible to camp and have a good time despite the rain! You probably do need your own transport to get around, although ...

Beautiful and Breathtaking

Advantages: Lots to do
Disadvantages: None

The Snowdonia National Park has some of the most beautiful and breath-taking scenery in England and Wales. You can walk on the moors, sail on a mountain lake, explore the numerous copper mines and even cycle for miles on safe cycle routes. What's more you can enjoy the wildlife and beauty when doing it. The Snowdonia National Park Authority works with local landowners, to look after the area, but at the same time, they allow visitors to visit and ...
...If you do visit Snowdonia don't forget to ride the Snowdon Mountain Railway, the little train runs at regular intervals from Llanberis to the summit of Snowdon. If you're lucky enough to ride it on a fine sunny day, the views are just magnificent. In the same area, there is also a twin lake at the foot of Snowdon with a massive carpark. The more energetic can go hiking along the various trails. The less energetic can enjoy a picnic by the lake side, ...

Mountain Bike Mecca

Advantages: Some of the best riding in the UK
Disadvantages: If you're a die hard MTB nut, none

...back from a week in Snowdonia with some friends and, as anyone who knows me would expect, my mountain bike. You see, right now North Wales is very much the in place to go for mountain biking, something to do with the fact that IMBA (International Mountain Bicycling Association) have decided that Wales is on a par with the sport's birthplace of California in terms of places to go and have a bit of two wheeled fun. The main centre for all the fuss ...
...Porthmadog, which is where we decided to have our week of two wheeled fun. We spent the week in a self catering log cabin in Trawsfynydd, only about three miles away from the trailhead at Coed-y-Brenin. The cabins are privately owned and are let out via Trawfynydd Holidays Ltd for quite reasonable sums of money. We paid £270 for a week in a six bed cabin, although the costs vary throughout the year. Being privately owned they are a little more homely ...

Nice chalangeing walk

Advantages: Beatiful scenery
Disadvantages: Can get very cold

Snowdona national park in north wales is a beatiful area of wales. There are many mountains and hills to climb for experienced walkers, and lakes to walk around for the less experienced. If you can do it climbing to the peak of snowdon is magnificent you can see for miles arround with breathtaking views of the rest of the park. My favourite climb is the glidders the next range over towards england from snowdon its self. Starts off with a gentle walk ...
...faint hearted to walk back next is a medium climb up past the devils kitchen a favourite climb for rock climbers When reaching the flat peak of the glidders its like being on the moon no vegetation just rock built up into cairns. Views are again magnificent until the clouds come in. Water sports are available on most lakes in the park but i reccomend reaching one of the peaks on a visit to snowdon. Well worth a visit with a group a couple or family ...

Something different

Advantages: Good for activity holidays
Disadvantages: Can be wet!!!

Snowdonia for a long time has been an area of awe-inspiring beauty, visited by thousands each year. For many years climbers have been drawn to the rock faces where although a lot of the rock climbs aren’t rated that difficult they are all very unprotected so that it makes them a lot more ‘interesting’. However there isn’t just walking and climbing in Snowdonia, you can also spend your time canoeing, although getting a lesson would probably be preferred ...
...Snowdonia a couple of years ago and for the first time I tried my hand at white water rafting, this is a must for people who are looking for an activity holiday in Snowdonia. It’s extremely good value for money and there are more then one place in Snowdonia that you can do this. You share a boat with about 6 other people and working as a team you are launched down the runs with a qualified instructor sitting with you. It is a definite adrenaline ...

different from England

Advantages: breathtaking
Disadvantages:

We visited last October. the weather is not very good and we couldn't take the train to the peak due to the bad weather. So we drove around the park and had some fantastic view. It's really very different from England where no big hills could be found. Some kind like New Zeland. the trees were colorful as it was autumn. Breathtaking indeed. We stop on the road somwehere and had a walk along the hill. raining a little bit but not too bad. the veiw ...
