Advantages Advantages Very good prices, high quality ingredients

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Forget your diet!

'Spices' in Wollaton opened on November 2003. The adverts in local nottingham papers promise you'll experience the cooking of a well recognised chef, Renu Miah, who'd been the in the business for 20 years. Heralding it as the long awaited addition to Wollaton's range of eateries (it's already to home to the fantastic 'Mr Mans'). An unusual promise made was that of secure parking for customers. This is a good selling point - the thought of what thieves are doing to your car whilst you munch on your poppadoms can put you off your main course. We have always booked over the phone on the day and ... more

Advantages Advantages Really good quality food, fresh delicious and affordable

Disadvantages Disadvantages forget diets, no delivery service but you can collect.

We live in Alferton, so a night out has to be special.. we always enjoy our night out at Spices. During the downturn this place in my opinion is value for money, and you will not be dissappointed. Frist the toilets are spotless, with a clean lobby and a welcoming grand reception. The seating is open in a semi circular building with high ceilings and large window so you get natural light entering the dining room. The food is served in the authentic original Indian Tradition. Renu the Exec Chef Has worked at the top level and brings years of experience in Indian food. His Father started in the ... more

After lots of reccomendations from family and friends visited spices, The decor is beautiful, its different from any indian in nottingham. The food is fresh, clean and has lots of flavours. The staff are really helpful and will help with your selection. There is on site parking which is secure, so no worries about parking. The prices are very competitive. With a good selection of different dishes to suit all customers. there were children there who seemed quite happy and really quiet. Myself and my partner visited the Spices Restaurant last weekend. After eventually finding the website which is actually listed as Spices of Wollaton, we were able to get a idea of what to expect in terms of the menu although it was quite blurred making it hard to read. Nevertheless we booked a table for Saturday evening. We were greated at the door and taken to a table . I didnt even get my bum in the seat before i was asked if i wanted a drink and handed the menu. The lighting tin the resturant was too bright and the surroundings felt very cold...there was no atmophere just waiters rushing ... more

Disadvantages Disadvantages poor service, poor communication, arrogance! cheeky, not bothered.

I visited this place 2 weeks ago and paid approx £200 for 10 people eating 3 courses (bargain)! Yesterday was invited to enter 30 mins before closing, they expected 6 people to finish a 3 course meal + drinks with 30 mins period!!! why let us in if they wanted us out in 30 mins!! today felt hungry so wife called for a takeaway, was spoken to in rude manner. cancelled the order within 2 mins of placing and they decided to hang up straight away! frustrated so called back-they didn't want to hear complaint after i have spent in excess of £300 in 2 weeks! Spices and it affiliate resturant in ... more

My husband and I are regulars at this restaurant for good reason: the quality of the food is exquisite, especially the specialty dishes. The chef is versatile on the range of Indian cuisine. One of our favourites is the Genghis Khan masala - truly fit for a king. What sets this place apart is the ability to experiment on enticing new dishes and combination of flavours, yet keep the tried and tested favourites on the house menu. Renu is an excellent host and always make us feel welcome. It is a warming environment for an after-work destressor yet enchanting an atmosphere for an anniversary ... more
