Advantages Advantages layout, size, shops, food, carpark, clean

Disadvantages Disadvantages more choice of shops needed

The St Enoch Centre is one of the main shopping centres in Glasgow City Centre. It was opened in 1989. Since then, it has undergone major refurbishments with the biggest job being completed in 2009 costing £100million. Shops Galore The shops are split over 3 levels with a Tesco underneath the centre. There are escalators and lifts linking the floors and plenty of space for disabled people and parents with buggies to navigate around the centre. The range of shops inside is extensive with a few shops being accessible from the outside aswell as from within the centre. *Beauty/Fashion - Debenhams ... more

    Advantages Advantages Impressive building.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None.

This very impressive building claims the title of being Europe’s largest glass structure. From the outside it looks like an enormous green house and is very impressive when viewed from St Enoch Square in the heart of Glasgow. On the inside it is a vibrant and exiting shopping centre with a great variety of over 80 shops. The unusual design of the centre makes you feel that you are visiting a shopping centre that is different from the average mall and from the selection of shops that you find this would be right. As well as some of the leading chain stores such as Debenhams, Boots and Bhs ... more

Advantages Advantages Main Stream shops, eating area.

Disadvantages Disadvantages A tad grotty, confusing entrances and exits!

BACKGROUND: ----------------------- The St Enoch centre in the middle of Glasgow is the largest shopping centre in Scotland...and impressively also the largest glass structure in Europe. The centre opened in 1989 and since then has become a popular complex for Glaswegians/visitors. STORES: ---------------------- St Enoch has the major stores you would expect to see in every town centre...TK Maxx, Boots, Bhs, Debenhams etc...you are spolit for choice! There is a mixture of shops for men, women and children so I epspecially like that the complex isn't aimed at any specific gender or age. There's ... more

Disadvantages Disadvantages Does get rather crowded

This place just screams Student! It has loads of high street clothing stores selling trendy clothes at very affordable prices. The shopping center is made up of 2 levels. On the first floor there are the clothing stores with a few eating places that sell stuff like ice cream, sandwiches and cookies and fast food place. On the second floor there is the Food court where you can sit in to eat after having purchased from the fast food restaurants. There is also a licensed bar on the food court area- so you can go there to relax a have a quick drink! Most of the stores in the shopping center offer ... more

    Advantages Advantages great shops

    Disadvantages Disadvantages none

St Enoch's Centre is the most popular shopping centre in the whole of Glasgow and it's good. It isn;t the best but it has a lot in it. I don't live in Glasgow but live in Edinburgh, I get the bus through and from the bus station can walk to the nearest underground. I can then get it to the St Enoch stop and go in. There are ltos of shops like Boots, Quiz a clothes shop, TK Maxx, and many others. My favourite part of the centre is The Food Court there are ltos of places to choose from salad bars, pizza, potatoes, MacDonalds anything. I get a pizza and chips whoch costs about £4.25 it's nice and ... more

    Advantages Advantages central location

    Disadvantages Disadvantages paying for toilets

i like the st. enoch centre, it has loads to offer, ample parking, central location, clean and pleasent especially since the smoking ban, plenty of choice of shops from clothes to toys, books to travel agents, even the most fussiest of eaters like me will find something to enjoy at the food court. it is however challenging visiting the st.enoch center with young children. when needing to use the bathroom without having to change a nappy you have to walk up 1 flight of stairs, no lift and pay twenty pence. the same for the jelly club. the jelly club is great fun, my kids love it, i do not love ... more
