St Patricks Day, 2000. The fun was never ending. Do go if you get the chance. We went and stayed in Temple Bar, flew with Ryan Air for £25 + Taxes and had a ball. St Paddy's Day is the time to visit as everyone is in a carnival mood. There are parades and fireworks and smiles on the faces everywhere. The bars and pubs serve great Guinness - we found O'Neills to be the best - just around the corner from Molly Malone's Statue, near the Tourist Information ...

Advantages: A beautiful city with lots to see and do Disadvantages: I didn't find any
This was my first visit to Ireland and won't be my last. We had a 4 day coach tour from the North East of England with a ferry crossing from Holyhead. The coach journey was much too long although I did enjoy the ferry crossing - next time I'll go by plane.
What can I say about Dublin - the people were so friendly & helpful. The whole weekend had a carnival feel but I suspect they are just as friendly all the year round. The pubs were very full in ... ...but the food was very good & we tried a few different venues over the weekend.
We stayed in a hotel out of the city centre so it was quite a trip into town but the accomodation was so good it was worth it. The parade itself was very impressive but the view was quite restricted by the crowds along the streets. More floats displaying above eye level would have been better for everyone to see.
We also had some coach trips around Dublin, a stud farm ...
