Advantages: Cheap, easy to get around, hassle free. Disadvantages: The time share people, although we were only hounded twice.
I booked a holiday for my husband, my mum and myself at the San Anton hotel in St Paul's Bay. The San Anton is a nice, basic hotel offering self catering or all inclusive. It's ideal for families as there is organised entertainment for both children and adults throughout the day. This was ideal for us as my mum can't walk very well and is often too tired to venture out of the hotel. There was a 5 minute walk to the nearest bus stop from the hotel ... ...island on the local buses. Every thing I'd read about the local buses prior to arriving in Malta suggested they were falling to bits and were incredibly uncomfortable, however, I didn't find them any worse than the average bus at home in Glasgow, and at 80 pence, approximately, for the longest journey they offer much better value. We found that the trips around Malta were roughly the same price regardless of whether you booked them with your travel ...

Advantages: Beautiful scenery. Disadvantages: Very hilly.
St. Pauls Bay-is a veritable honey pot of delight.
The streets are narrow and poorly maintained in places. A good deal of one way road systems., and limited parking if you are making your own way around. Parking is "street-side. Boxes are allocated , but watch out for bay restrictions and bus stops . Haveing fallen foul of both and smiling when fined , they are to be respected! Yes I smiled when paying my fine. Why?- you may ask. Simple - It cost ... ...car you hire. St. Paul's bay has much to offer. There are several good hotels , with varied standards . The average star rating being three in tourists guides. The hotels in variably offer full board or half board. Air conditioning a must in the climate may or may not be available. Room srevice is in my experiance good. From cleanliness to the change of linen and towels. Rates of pay in Malta are poor compared to some holiday rwesorts so be mindful ...

ST. Paul's Bay is where St. Paul was shipwrecked on a little island (uninhabited)approx 1900 years. There is a statue visible on this little rock of St Paul. This seaside area is one of the earliest villages established in MALTA.
Originally this was a fishing and framing community. This location encompassed other little villages ( Bugibba, Qawra, Burmarrad, Manikata, Pwales Xemxija and a few others.) In the last 40 years or so a dramatic change ... ...and the villagers very friendly. Bugibba and Qawra which were two very tiny villages have become major touristic villages in this area. There are several big hotels and complexes which cater for the tourist. There are quite a good choice of restaurants in this vicinity.
If you take time to visit the surrounding area you will discover many
interesting locations. Also available from this area are day trips to Gozo (One of the Islands of Malta) and ...
