...trips through the USA and St. Petersburg remained the same.
I returned several times since and always managed to add these few last days in St. Pete, as it is called by the locals.
Where exactly is St Petersburg ? St.Pete is about 15 miles south east of Tampa, located on a peninsula in between the Gulf of Mexico and Tampa Bay.
The nearest international airport is the Tampa International, from which you can reach St Pete within a short drive on ... ...historical background Since around 900 AD the tribe of the Tocobago Indians lived in the area of Tampa Bay.
The Tocobago are known to have settled usually near water and their main source for food were fish and shellfish, nuts and berries, but they were also cultivating corn. As corn doesn't naturally occur in this region, it is assumed that they traded with the tribes further north.
The area is rich in small game and they were also skilled huntsmen. ...

Advantages: beautiful weather and a great place for any families Disadvantages: none what-so-ever
I can't believe I'm the first person to write a review on St.Pete! Well it's situated in Florida, U.S.A and reaches temperatures around 90 degrees. It is about a 30 minute drive away from the famous tourist destination Busch Gardens. Busch Gardens is well known for the world's best rollercoasters and wildlife.
St.Pete is a relatively large place with many places to visit, such as the local mall. Here there are shops such as the Nike store, Tommy ... ...shopping at reasonable prices, or alternatively eat at many of the fast food places around and believe me it really is fast food!
The resort my family and I stayed at, "Pass-a-Grille" was extremely pleasant, situated on the beautiful sandy beach of St.Pete. Although the name of the resort may put people into a confused state of mind, the appartments and scenery were beautiful. The great thing was you could sit on your balcony and eat your dinner ...

Advantages: A lovely tan and the holiday of your lifetime! Disadvantages: You're tryin' to tell me I've gotta right something bad about the place I wanna live? NEVAAAR!!
I first went to Florida in February 2003 when I was 12, We stayed in Orlando for a week, then drove to St Petersburg down on the Gulf Coast and stayed there for a week. Of course I loved Orlando because of the shops, theme parks and the hype but The Gulf Coast was definately the favourite part of my holiday, somewhere you could just chill out and not worry about anything, you know just relax. But after the 2 weeks we had there the holiday was sadly ... ...the plane to Florida again to do a week on Orlando and drive down to The Gulf Coast for a week, Once again we went shopping pretty much everyday, but, as much as I loved the shopping, I was glad to walk my aching feet along the beach. On Christmas Day when we arrived in St Petes I immediately went to the beach, being as it was literally 2 minutes (I Counted) away from our hotel I didn't see why not, I just walked along the deserted beach all by myself ...

Advantages: Gorgeous weather gorgeous place Disadvantages: We went at the time a Hurricane was flying down mexico & was a tad wet!
My first time to USA, we stayed for 3 weeks. The first 2 weeks were spent going round Disney World and Universal Studios.
Which was absolutely amazing. If you ever want to go to Orlando and want a 2 centre stay including visiting Disney World and Universal, then I would definitly recommend going for 3 weeks. You need 2 weeks just going round ALL the parks.
Each day we did a park a day. That is on the first day we went to Animal Kingdom Disney World, ... ...and Busch gardens, in the first 2 weeks. All travel in the first week was by bus, though it was unfortunate that we had to pay (rather a lot!!!) every time we went to Disney World.
The Bus to Universal was free, and we only used it twice!!!
You can get around by car, unless your an extremely confident driver, or are used to driving in different countries then I wouldnt recommend it. It was bad enough trying to cross 8 lanes of traffic on foot!!!!!!
