Advantages: Independent activity, stress free, shuttlebus (which we didn't use) Disadvantages: limited refreshments so bring your own picnic
...in Vancouver ended up in Stanley Park: visiting the Aquarium, walking around the harbour wall, sitting at Beaver Lake, or ambling the many footpaths. More a forest than a park, trees of majesty make one feel minuscule. Some of the park is off limits as work is done to manage the forest after the recent storms that destroyed a lot of it. My advice is to pick up a map from one of the kiosks at the edge of the park and read the signs for information ...

Advantages: Very beautifull, natural. Disadvantages: Be carefull of bicycle's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I suggest you start off by doing a loop around the park. You can either drive, or if you're feeling energetic, try walking. If speed is your thing, you can rent a bike or rollerblades at stores near Georgia and Denman Street. It's about six miles around (vehicular traffic flow is one way, and counter clockwise in direction). By circling the park you'll see many of the landmarks. Let me take you on a short tour. As you enter the park from Georgia ... ...It doesn't look like much unless the roses are in bloom. There is, however, a small playground tucked in behind it, as well as a dining pavilion. On the water side you'll see the beautiful English looking building that houses The Vancouver Rowing Club, and Coal Harbour, where you may be lucky enough to see a seaplane land. Going around the park by car is the method of choice if it is necessary to see the most with little time available, if mobility ...
