During my travels around Australia i spent a month in Sydney (please see my other reviews about Sydney) and was amazed by the diversity of the attractions available. Star City Casino is one of the most extravagant, luxurious and star quality attractions that Sydney has to offer, whether you are a backpacker, on a hen or stag night or there on an adult family ... ...impressive adorned with lights (the firework name "Star City" formation was fantastic), moving escalators, cascading waterfalls and water features, extensive plants and trees and a stream of limos lining up to get inside. The building itself holds a stage theatre (when we was there they were holding the first Dusty Springfield the Musical and was set for a world tour) a range of restaurants, bars, an expensive hotel with a range of rooms available, ...

...August 2008) at the glittering Star City Casino Hotel, located in Pyrmont, an inner city suburb of Sydney Australia. Previous reviews of this hotel have only really described the casino area, but you can have a great time staying here even if you aren't into gambling, because there's lots of places to eat and things to see and do. Also I took a few photos at the hotel, and readers may be interested in these. Good points were as follows. Excellent ... ...about waiting.
RESTAURANTS AT STAR CITY
The hotel (five star) has a range of restaurants. I dined at the Lotus Pond Chinese restaurant and found the food excellent ( I had stirfry prawns and rice plus vegetables). It was artistically arranged on the plate. The ambience was good, and the waitress helpful. The decor in the restaurant was charmingly Oriental with a kind of an elevated dining area with a moat around it, lanterns, soft lights and helpful ...

...be honest, I found the Star City Casino in Sydney a bit of a disappointment. We went to Vegas a couple of years ago so I was getting ready to try my luck with video blackjack (my forté or weakness - however you see it!) When we got there, the place is impressive, lots of flashy lights and water fountains etc. but the casino itself was simply filled with row upon row of the same one-armed bandit-type machines which only the asians appeared to be able ... ...times as I read the rules it made no sense. The tables were crowded and the drinks were expensive. It does have the metrolink light railway station below the ground floor which is very convenient and if you wanted to make a night of it with the theatre then perhaps it might be worth it. But I have to say, given the choice it's Vegas Baby, Vegas. ...

The Star City Casino or, the Vegas Experience as it is billed, is in a suburb of Birmingham so nice and easy to get too without battling through the city centre. It within a leisure complex, which also has host of other bars and restaurants. Parking is plentiful and there is even a courtesy parking service, at a charge and a place where you can order a taxi.
The casino it’s self is set over several floors. The first floor being ... ...a sort of mezzanine floor, which is almost totally electronic roulette. The gaming floor is next with a wide range of games, blackjack, roulette, casino poker, punto banco and several other less known games and quite a few slots, and other electronic roulette machines. There is a restaurant overlooking the gaming area. There is also a show bar which has nightly shows, but there is a cost to get in here from £25-£50, depending what is on and includes ...
