Advantages: cheap, clean, friendly Disadvantages: No frills, a 15-minute walk from the city centre
...only option was the Stay Inn, on the northern edge of the city centre. I was not expecting much as I'd read some pretty begative reviews on the internet but as it turned out they were both unfair and inaccurate. Let's deal with the negatives first. The hotel's location, a good 15 minute walk from Deansgate, means you have to be fairly fit and able-bodied to take advantage of its proximity to town. After dark, you'll probably need a tax which is £5 ... ...the cost ( around £50 a night) even cheaper. The staff are friendly and helpful and, in our four-day stay there, we had no complaints. So if you're looking for somewhere to stay in Manchester, and can't afford the fancy stuff, Stay Inn is a good budget option. ...

Advantages: Catering, staff, facilities in rooms. Disadvantages: None :)
...wasn't expecting to enjoy my stay as I'd just come for a business trip, but the atmosphere and staff made my experience good. They helped me get around the city and often I was phoning them for advice to get from place to place... which they didn't mind! Manchester is a great city, and this isn't very centrally located, but it took me about 6/7 minutes to walk to the town centre.
