Advantages: Cheap, Reliable, Fast, Regular Disadvantages: Its only a 10 km circle with 15 stations!
The 3rd oldest subway in the world, Glasgow's underground is affectionately known as the Clockwork Orange. I wont go into a history lesson, but www.spt.co.uk is a useful source of information if you want to know about the Subway, past and present. There is also a good exhibition detailing the history of the Subway at the Glasgow Museum of Transport.

Advantages: easy to use, cheap Disadvantages: none known!
Just to say that it is NOT known as 'the clockwork orange' - if you say this term to locals, you will get blank looks..!
It was the invention of a journalist, but it has never caught on - except in articles by other journalists who repeat it endlessly, having copied it - lazily - from the articles they've dug out for research.
I used to travel on it every day to school, I still use it, and it's called either 'the subway' or 'the underground'. ...
