    Disadvantages Disadvantages none

Let me introduce you to the city where I was born: Stuttgart, which is the capital of the German federal state of Baden-Wuerttemberg. Baden -Wuerttemberg itself was founded in 1952 and is a federation of the former duchy of Baden, the duchy of Hohenzollern and the former kingdom of Wuerttemberg. Now for all these, who don't know were on earth this place might be found on the map: Baden-Wuerttemberg is in the south-west of Germany, bordering to France in the west and Switzerland in the south. The natives of Stuttgart are called Schwaben (Swabians). You can recognize them easily as soon as they ... more

Advantages Advantages nice city, nice surroundings

Disadvantages Disadvantages the dialect of the people, but if you don't know German anyway, why bother

Today we’re going to get to know Stuttgart, the capital of the Land Baden-Württemberg in the southwest of Germany which was founded 51 years ago, on 25th April 1952. Last year there were celebrations and festivities everywhere! Before that time it had already been the home of the Kings of Württemberg who, as it is the habit with kings, had castles built in the city and outside, so there’s quite a lot to see. We’ve met in the main train station which isn’t only a good starting-point for our tour, but also worth seeing in itself as it was built in the 1920s in the style ... more

Advantages Advantages Small is good for this festival

Disadvantages Disadvantages What apart from a hangover??

First off I am not going to claim that you are going to learn too much about Stuttgart itself from this review. If truth were told I could hardly remember half the time I spent in the City. That's not to say I didn't have a good time or enjoy the place - to the contrary. I shall explain. My reason for visiting this fine city was not to explore the shops of Koenigstrasse, climb the TV Tower or find out the inner workings of a Porsche or Mercedes for that matter. No the reason was the "Cannstatter Volksfest". Having decided around early summer we wanted a 'lads' trip to a beer festival Munich ... more

Advantages Advantages It's like Disneyland, but with beer

Disadvantages Disadvantages Crowded public transport and hangovers

It seems that German cities have festivals for everything. In Stuttgart, sauerkraut is being celebrated at the end of October, once the fairground and beer tents have been cleared away from the Cannstatter Volksfest ("the people's festival", originally a celebration of bringing in the harvest). In September they were praising the wine. The entire purpose of my trip to Stuttgart was to visit the Volksfest with my family. Having lived in Stuttgart for two years, and knowling the city intimately, they said that the best time for me to visit was during this 3-weekend period (from the last weekend ... more

    Advantages Advantages Great city

Disadvantages Disadvantages It's far from here lol

I recently spent 8 days in Stuttgart as part of an exchange, and really loved the city and all it had to offer. Most of what I loved about it was the other towns and places that they had in the area, which I will talk about in more detail below. *Stuttgart town centre* To be honest, I didn't spend a great deal of time in Stuttgart itself, although I did spend a long time in one of the many Starbucks they had. The main shopping street, Koenigstrasse, had many German shops as well as internationally known ones such as H&M, along with a handful of restaurants. I went to the art museum one day ... more

Advantages Advantages lots of parcs, woods, nightlife...

    Disadvantages Disadvantages ...

First I´ve to say that I come from Stuttgart! Sorry, that my English is not as good as yours, but my Englsh teacher is not very good ;)! Stuttgart is the capital of Baden- Württemberg (That´s in South-Germany). Here live about 550 000 people. But nevertheless there are lots of parks and woods. Arround Stuttgart are hills. That´s very nice, because you can have a very great look on the city. I think you all know Mercedes and Porsche!? They both come from Stuttgart. If you want to go shopping, I would go to the Königsstraße (Kingsstreet). There are many shops and supermarkets... One ofe the ... more

Advantages Advantages Many places to visit and go.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Weather is not always brilliant.

I have recently visited Stuttgart in Germany and had a wonderful time. I was in Germany for twelve days. I did a number of activities such as swimming and Go-Karting at a near by track. Stuttgart also has wonderful scenery and a great night life. During the day there are a number of tours taken round Stuttgart but the only bad thing is that you must go by foot instead of a bus like in England. There a number of old castles such as a caslte in Ludwigsbourg and another called Schloss Castle. There are also some great swimming pools like the one in a town called Vaingen which has three swimming ... more

Advantages Advantages convenient, manageable, fun life

    Disadvantages Disadvantages -

Stuttgart is the main city of Baden Wuerttemberg, located in the southwest of Germany. Stuttgart is well developed, and management, probably there are famous companies like Bosch, Porsche and Damler-Benz as the attractions of this city. Therefore, I can say that train system or even transportation system of this city is the best in Germany. The trains and busses arrive and depart on-time and very often or every 5-10 minutes. The main street of the city is Koenigstrsse(King Street) along the street there are a lot of shops and restuarants, especially the traditonal Swabian dishes are recommended ... more

    Advantages Advantages cheap party location

Disadvantages Disadvantages not open for everyone

Partying in Stuttgart is not that easy. First because its the city of the Snobs ;- ) and secondly because its really expansive. But some students found a nice solution for this problem. Every Wednesday night is a party on the top of the "Max-Kade-Haus" (hall of residence) in the city centre. Its located in the Holzgarten-Strasse nearby the City train station "Berliner Platz / Liederhalle". It's a little 15 floors building and on the first floor there is a kind of "check in". Normally the party is only for students living in the house but if you are good in arguing you may find in. Please be ... more
